We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting you up in this time of fear and distress. The Scriptures remind us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Yet we also know that fear can grip us when we feel threatened or misunderstood, and we must turn to the Lord for strength and wisdom in these moments.
First, we must address the seriousness of what you’ve shared. Threats of harm—whether directed at you or made by you—are deeply troubling and not in alignment with the love and self-control that Christ calls us to. The Bible is clear in Proverbs 10:18, *"He who hides hatred has lying lips. He who utters a slander is a fool."* If someone is speaking ill of you, we pray the Lord would convict their heart and bring repentance. But we also urge you to examine your own words and actions, for Scripture warns in Ephesians 4:29, *"Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear."* If you have engaged in arguments or threats, we encourage you to seek forgiveness and reconciliation, trusting in the Lord’s power to restore peace.
As for your friend’s daughter, we pray that the Lord would soften her heart and move her to show kindness and consideration toward you. If she has made a promise to stop speaking poorly of you, we ask God to hold her to that commitment and to help both of you communicate with honesty and grace. Colossians 4:6 tells us, *"Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one."* May your conversations be rooted in love and truth, and may any misunderstandings be resolved through the leading of the Holy Spirit.
We also notice that your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus, and we gently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* If you have not yet placed your faith in Christ as your Savior, we urge you to do so, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Repent of your sins, believe in Him, and you will be forgiven and granted eternal life.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift this dear one before You, asking for Your protection and peace to surround them. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear or strife that seeks to torment them, and we ask that You would guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. If there are words spoken against them, we pray You would silence the tongues of the wicked and bring conviction where it is needed. Father, we ask that You would soften the heart of their friend’s daughter, that she would show kindness and keep her promise to speak no evil. Grant them both the wisdom and humility to communicate openly and in love, that any bitterness or division may be healed.
Lord, if there has been sin in the words or actions of this dear one, we ask for Your forgiveness and for the strength to walk in repentance. Help them to speak words of life and to trust in You rather than reacting in fear or anger. We also pray that if they do not know You as their Savior, You would draw them to Yourself today. Open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, that they may place their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, trusting in Your goodness and mercy. Amen.
