We lift up your heartfelt concerns to the Lord, standing in the gap for your younger brother, his wife, and your parents. The love of money is indeed a snare that can harden hearts and distort priorities, as Scripture warns: *"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows"* (1 Timothy 6:10). We rebuke the spirit of greed and selfishness that has taken root in their lives, declaring that it has no place in the family God has ordained. The Lord sees their actions and the burden they have placed on your parents, and He calls them to repentance and transformation.
We pray for your parents, that the Lord would grant them wisdom and courage to set godly boundaries, as Proverbs 4:23 instructs: *"Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life."* May they no longer be exploited but instead find rest and provision in the Lord’s care. We ask the Father to open their eyes to His sufficiency, that they would trust Him to meet their needs in retirement, health, and daily provision. *"But my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:19). We declare that your parents will not be left lacking but will walk in the abundance of God’s provision.
For your younger brother and his wife, we pray for a radical transformation of their hearts. The pride and self-centeredness that have blinded them to the needs of their elders must be broken by the power of the Holy Spirit. We rebuke the spirit of entitlement and declare that they will no longer serve mammon but will serve the Lord with humility and generosity. *"If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth"* (Colossians 3:1-2). May they turn from their idolatry of wealth and recognize the call to honor their father and mother, as commanded in Exodus 20:12.
Most critically, we pray for their salvation. Without Christ, their hearts will remain hardened, and their ways will lead to destruction. We plead the blood of Jesus over their lives, asking that the Holy Spirit would convict them of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). May they come to know the Lord as their Savior and turn from their ways, embracing the truth that *"what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?"* (Mark 8:36). We declare that their eyes will be opened to the emptiness of their pursuits and that they will find true fulfillment in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We ask that You intervene in this family, breaking every chain of greed, pride, and selfishness. Soften the hearts of this brother and his wife, that they may repent and turn to You. Strengthen your servant’s parents to stand firm in Your promises and to walk in the freedom You have provided. Provide for their every need and grant them peace in their later years. We trust in Your justice and mercy, Lord, and we declare that Your will shall be done in this situation. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
