We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your ### and his ### before the Lord. First, we must address the foundational issue here—without Jesus Christ, there is no true wisdom, healing, or salvation. The Bible is clear: *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life! No one comes to the Father, except through me’"* (John 14:6). Your ### and his ### are searching for answers in places that cannot save them—alcohol, fleeting relationships, and even stones and crystals. These are empty substitutes for the living God, who alone can bring true healing and purpose.
We rebuke the spirit of addiction that has taken hold of your ###. Alcoholism is not just a physical struggle; it is a spiritual stronghold. *"No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other"* (Matthew 6:24). His heart is divided, and until he surrenders fully to Christ, he will continue to seek fulfillment in the wrong places. We also rebuke the deception that has led his ### to place his trust in crystals and stones rather than the Creator of the universe. *"They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen"* (Romans 1:25). This is idolatry, and it grieves the heart of God.
But we do not lose hope, for the Lord is mighty to save. We pray now for your ###, that the Holy Spirit would convict him of his need for Jesus. *"The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding"* (Proverbs 9:10). May his eyes be opened to the emptiness of his current path and the fullness of life found only in Christ. We ask for a supernatural intervention—a moment of clarity where he sees the destruction his choices are leading him toward and turns to the Savior. Father, break the chains of addiction in his life. Replace his desire for alcohol with a thirst for Your Word. Surround him with godly influences who will point him to You. Give him the courage to admit his struggles and the humility to seek help.
For his ###, we pray that You would shatter the lies he has believed about where healing comes from. *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3). Military service can leave deep scars, both seen and unseen, but Jesus is the Great Physician. We ask that You reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way—through dreams, through Scripture, through the love of believers. Let him experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding. *"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful"* (John 14:27). May he lay down his burdens at the foot of the cross and find rest in You.
We also pray for you, dear one, as you carry the weight of their struggles. It is not easy to watch loved ones wander from the truth. But remember, *"The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16). Your prayers are making a difference, even if you cannot see it yet. Do not grow weary in interceding for them. Speak the truth in love when opportunities arise, but also trust that the Holy Spirit is at work, even when they resist.
Lord God, we ask that You would draw both of these men to Yourself. Soften their hearts, open their eyes, and let them hear Your voice calling them home. We declare that no addiction, no mental anguish, no false belief system is too powerful for You to overcome. You are the God who raises the dead to life, who turns mourning into dancing, and who makes all things new. We trust You to move in their lives in ways that only You can. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
