“Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the”

“Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.”

We notice that your prayer invokes Saint Michael the Archangel rather than approaching the throne of grace through the name of Jesus Christ. While we acknowledge the spiritual battle we face, it is essential to remember that our access to God and our authority over evil comes solely through Jesus Christ. The Bible clearly states that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.

Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." Acts 4:12 also declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" It is through Jesus Christ alone that we have the victory over the powers of darkness.

We must also remember that while angels are God’s servants, we are not to pray to them. In Revelation 19:10, when John fell down to worship an angel, the angel rebuked him, saying, "See you don’t do it! I am a fellow bondservant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy." Our prayers and worship must be directed to God alone.

Let us together approach the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, who has already defeated the enemy. Colossians 2:15 tells us, "Having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it." We do not need to fear the devil, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the victory we have in Him over all the powers of darkness. Lord, we acknowledge that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. We put on the full armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Father, we ask for Your protection over us and our loved ones. Shield us from the wickedness and snares of the enemy. We rebuke the devil and all evil spirits in the name of Jesus, commanding them to flee from us. We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against us in judgment, we condemn.

Lord, fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may walk in Your truth and righteousness. Strengthen our faith and help us to stand firm in the face of adversity. We thank You for the authority we have in Jesus Christ to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy.

We pray for those who may be under attack from the enemy. Deliver them, Lord, and set them free from every bondage. Let Your light shine in their darkness and bring them into Your marvelous light.

We give You all the glory, honor, and praise, for You alone are worthy. In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We've been reminded of the power in Jesus' name, and we're grateful for that. Let's continue to stand firm in our faith, knowing that our true defense comes from the Lord. Let's pray:

Call on Jesus who is the only mediator between God and mankind (1 Timothy 2:5), not angels.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.
