We join you in lifting up your family’s travels to our Heavenly Father, trusting in His protection and sovereign care over every mile they journey. How precious it is to see a father’s heart interceding for his wife and sons—this is a beautiful reflection of Christ’s love for His church. We thank you for invoking the mighty name of Jesus in your request, for it is only through Him that we boldly approach the throne of grace and find mercy in our time of need. As Scripture declares, *"I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep."* (Psalm 121:1-4, WEB). What a comfort to know that the Lord neither sleeps nor grows weary as He watches over your loved ones!
We pray earnestly that the Lord would surround your wife and son with His angels, guarding their every step as they travel to and from college. May He place His hand upon the wheel and the road, shielding them from every danger, seen and unseen. *"The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them."* (Psalm 34:7, WEB). Father, we ask that You would grant your wife wisdom and alertness as she drives, and that Your peace would fill the car, dispelling any anxiety or distraction. For your other son and his friend, we pray for safe passage as well—may their journey be smooth, their vehicle reliable, and their return home joyful. *"Yahweh will preserve your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more."* (Psalm 121:8, WEB).
Brother, we also lift you up as you prepare to bring your son back this weekend. May the Lord grant you strength and patience for the trip, and may these moments together be opportunities to speak life and truth into your sons’ hearts. What a privilege it is to parent with intentionality, pointing them to Christ in all things. *"Fathers, don’t provoke your children to anger, but nurture them in the Lord’s discipline and instruction."* (Ephesians 6:4, WEB). We pray that your home would be a refuge of godly love and that your sons would grow to walk in the fear of the Lord, seeking His will for their lives—especially as they navigate the influences of college and friendships.
As you continue to pray for us daily, know that we are likewise interceding for your family’s spiritual and physical well-being. May the Lord knit your hearts together in unity, and may your home be a testament to His faithfulness. Let us also encourage you to take a moment to thank the Lord in advance for His protection, for *"in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God"* (Philippians 4:6, WEB). Gratitude is a powerful weapon against fear and a reminder of God’s past faithfulness.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your divine protection over this family’s travels. Cover them with the blood of Christ, which speaks a better word than the blood of Abel (Hebrews 12:24). Command Your angels to guard them in all their ways, and let no harm come near their dwelling or their journeys. Give them safe passage, Lord, and bring them home rejoicing. We ask that You would use these trips as opportunities to draw each family member closer to You, that they may seek Your face and walk in Your ways. Strengthen this husband and father as he leads his family, and may Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
