Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing so openly what is weighing on your heart. I hear how deeply you have been hurt by the words about your room and your belongings, and how heavy the other burdens feel right now with your health, your allergies, your pain and discomfort, and the strain in friendships and family. God sees all of this and He cares about every part of it.
I want to pray with you and also share some encouragement from Scripture.
First, about the hurt in your family. Words can wound very deeply, especially when they come from those closest to us. Even Jesus knew what it was to be misunderstood and criticized by His own family and to not be honored among His own. He understands the pain of rejection at home. The Bible also teaches that family ties are important and that we have a responsibility to care for and honor one another, treating older family members with respect as fathers and mothers and younger ones as brothers and sisters. That does not mean hurtful words are okay, but it does mean God wants us to seek love, respect and clear communication in the home. It is right to want privacy and respect for your space and your belongings, especially when your sister no longer lives there. It would be good to calmly and respectfully share with your parents how much these comments and the entering of your room without permission hurts you, and to ask for a clear boundary that everyone can understand and honor.
About your health, I hear your discouragement with allergies, sore throat and runny nose, menstrual pain and itching, the rash on your hands in winter, and soreness in your gums with dentures, along with your desire for help with weight. I believe God does heal, and He heals in many ways. Sometimes He heals instantly, sometimes He heals gradually through a process. The healing that happens through our bodies, through medicine, through time and care, is still from Him, because He is the one who created our bodies and the natural processes that bring restoration. We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others wait longer, but we can trust that He is present and compassionate in either case. He can bring healing to the body, and He also brings healing to the mind and emotions where wounds and discouragement have settled. Keep using the help God has provided through doctors and medicine, even when it feels slow, and keep bringing each need to Him in prayer.
I also hear how alone and depressed you have felt when you are told you look old, are not normal, or are embarrassing, and when a friend speaks harshly. Those words are not what God says about you. You are made and loved by Him, and your value is not measured by a comment about your appearance or your room. When prayer feels hard to put into words because the hurt is so deep, the Spirit understands even when we have no words to express it.
Let me pray for you.
Father, in the name of Jesus I bring this dear one to You. You know the hurt caused by negative words about her room and belongings and the pain of feeling disrespected in her own home. Bring peace to this family, soften hearts, and help them speak to one another with kindness and understanding. Give wisdom for clear and respectful boundaries about her room and privacy.
Lord, I ask for Your healing touch on her body. Ease the allergies, the sore throat and runny nose, the itching and pain, the winter rash on her hands, and the soreness in her gums. Bring regulation and relief to her menstrual cycle and help her to find good care and counsel for her health and weight. Work through the medicine and the natural healing processes You have placed in the body, whether quickly or gradually, according to Your wisdom.
Heal also the discouragement and depression that has settled on her heart. Comfort her where she has felt rejected and embarrassed, and remind her that she is valued and loved by You. Help her friend to be more understanding and gentle, and help her mother to speak words that build up rather than tear down.
Provide also for the practical need of the white dress for the party, that stains would be removed and the holes mended if it is Your will.
Give her strength each day, surround her with supportive people who will listen and help, and draw her closer to You and to the family of believers who can stand with her. We trust You to do what is best, in Your time and Your way. In Jesus name, Amen.
Please continue to bring these needs to the Lord, and also reach out to a trusted pastor, counselor or medical provider who can walk with you personally and give you ongoing support. You are not alone.
