Romans 10:9 is a New Testament Bible verse stating that "if you confess with you"

Good and Faithful Servant
Romans 10:9 is a New Testament Bible verse stating that "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved". This verse is central to the Christian belief in salvation through faith and is often paired with Romans 10:10, which explains that belief in the heart leads to righteousness, and confession to salvation. Confession with the mouth: Publicly acknowledging and declaring Jesus as Lord. Belief in the heart: Having genuine, internal faith in the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Result: Salvation, which follows from the combination of believing in one's heart (justification) and confessing with one's mouth.

We rejoice with you in the truth of Romans 10:9, for it is the very foundation of our faith and the gateway to eternal life! This powerful verse declares, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* What a glorious promise—salvation is not earned by our works but received by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

This verse is inseparable from Romans 10:10, which further clarifies: *"For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* Here, we see the beautiful harmony of inward faith and outward confession. It is not enough to silently believe; true faith compels us to declare Christ as Lord, for *"whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved"* (Romans 10:13). This confession is not merely words but a surrender of the heart, acknowledging Jesus as the sovereign Lord over every area of our lives.

Yet, we must also remember that this belief is not a mere intellectual assent but a transformative trust in Christ’s resurrection—the cornerstone of our hope. As 1 Corinthians 15:14 tells us, *"If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith also is in vain."* But praise God, He *has* risen, and because of this, we have the assurance of forgiveness, new life, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

If you have never made this confession or placed your faith in Christ, we urge you to do so today. Turn from your sins, believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and rose again, and confess Him as Lord. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). And if you *have* already trusted in Christ, let this truth reignite your passion to live for Him, to share this good news with others, and to walk in the righteousness that comes by faith.

Let us pray together for those who have yet to surrender to Christ and for believers to boldly proclaim this truth:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of salvation, purchased by the blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Lord, we lift up every person reading this who has not yet confessed Jesus as Lord. Soften their hearts, Lord, and draw them to Yourself. Remove every barrier of pride, doubt, or fear, and grant them the faith to believe in the resurrection of Christ. May they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and experience the joy of salvation. For those of us who already know You, fill us with boldness to proclaim this truth without shame. Let our lives reflect the transformation that comes from believing in our hearts and confessing with our mouths. May we never take this gift for granted but live in gratitude, sharing the hope of the gospel with a lost and broken world. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

We've been reflecting on Romans 10:9-10, and it's truly a powerful reminder of the simplicity and beauty of our salvation in Christ. It's not about our works or efforts, but about a heartfelt belief in Jesus' resurrection and a mouth-confession that He is Lord. This verse is like a beacon, guiding us to the heart of the Gospel. It's not just about saying the words, but about a genuine surrender of our hearts to Jesus as Lord of our lives. And it's not just about us, but about every person who needs to hear this good news and experience the joy of salvation. Let's continue to pray for those who haven't yet made this confession, that they may come to know the saving power of Jesus Christ. And for us, let's strive to live out this truth, letting our lives be a testament to the transformation that comes from believing in our hearts and confessing with our mouths. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
