We hear your heart’s desire to care for the body God has entrusted to you, and we join with you in seeking His wisdom and blessing in this matter. The Scriptures remind us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with them (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Taking care of your skin and health is a good and responsible thing, but we must also guard our hearts against vanity or an unhealthy fixation on outward appearance, for the Lord looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7).
We notice that in your prayer, you addressed "Loed Jesusu" and later "Nesus," which may have been a simple typo, but it is important to remember that there is power in the name of Jesus Christ, there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through faith in Him that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we pray with confidence (John 14:13-14). Let us always approach God with reverence, calling on the name of Jesus, for He alone is our mediator (1 Timothy 2:5).
Now, concerning your tan and the use of sunscreen, we encourage you to seek balance. While protecting your skin from harm is wise, we must also remember that our worth is not found in our appearance but in Christ. If this pursuit is causing tension with your mother, we pray for wisdom and unity in your relationship with her. The Bible instructs us to honor our parents (Ephesians 6:2), and open, respectful communication can help bridge any disagreements.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear sister to You, asking for Your guidance and wisdom in all things. Lord, help her to care for her body as Your temple, with balance and gratitude, rather than vanity or fear. Give her discernment in how she stewards her health and appearance, that she may glorify You in all she does.
Father, we ask that You would soften her heart and her mother’s heart toward one another. Grant them patience, understanding, and unity as they navigate their discussions. Help them to communicate with love and respect, honoring one another as You have called us to do.
Lord, we also ask that You would guard her heart against any obsession with outward beauty. Remind her daily that her true beauty comes from a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in Your sight (1 Peter 3:3-4). Let her find her worth and identity in Christ alone.
We rebuke any spirit of vanity or discontentment that may be at work in this situation, and we declare that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). May she walk in the confidence of who she is in You, Lord.
We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in all things, trusting that He will direct your steps. If this concern is causing you anxiety or distraction, take time to surrender it to Him, remembering that His grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9). Keep your focus on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8), and let your life reflect the beauty of Christ within you.
