A New Year’s Discourse
Life is fleeting and demands urgent preparation for eternity and service to Christ today.
We hear the longing in your heart to be reunited and to see him again, and we join you in bringing this desire before the Lord to seek His perfect will together in Jesus' name.

We are encouraged that you want to follow God's plans, for His plans are good and full of hope. As it is written, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. We also take comfort in the promise that if we Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6.

We want to gently encourage you to test what you have heard in prayer against the Word of God, for not every strong feeling or impression is from the Lord. The scripture tells us Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God. 1 John 4:1. If God is truly telling you to go, He will confirm it through His Word, through peace, through godly counsel, and through open doors that align with His holiness. We encourage you to ask the Lord for wisdom, for If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. James 1:5. And to wait patiently on His timing, for even when we feel it must be soon, God's timing is perfect and He calls us to Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh. Psalm 27:14.

Concerning this relationship, we want to share what the Bible teaches so that your reunion would honor God. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and that any romantic relationship should be approached as courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer. We encourage you to consider whether this man is a fellow believer in Christ, for Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14. And if you are not yet married to him, we lovingly remind you that God calls us to purity and to abstain from sexual immorality, for This is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality. 1 Thessalonians 4:3. If there has been any fornication or impurity in the past, we urge you to repent and to pursue holiness from this point forward, trusting God to restore and to bless obedience. We pray that if it is God's will for you to be together, it would lead toward a godly marriage that honors Him, and if not, that He would guard your heart and redirect your steps.

We also noticed that your request mentions God but does not mention Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, for If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the depth of this longing to see him and to be reunited. We ask that You make Your will unmistakably clear. If this reunion is from You and will lead to a holy marriage that glorifies You, we pray You would open the doors and prepare both hearts in purity, faith, and love. If it is not Your will, we pray You would close the doors gently, give peace, and turn this desire toward Your better plan. Grant wisdom, discernment, and patience to wait for Your perfect timing and not to rush ahead. Guard this life from impurity and draw both closer to Jesus. Help this one to trust You fully, to delight in You, and to know that You will give the desires of the heart as we delight in You. Psalm 37:4. We ask for Your comfort, Your guidance, and Your leading in every step. We pray all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We hear how much you want to see him and how strongly you feel God is leading you there. That kind of longing can make the waiting feel especially heavy, and it's understandable to want plans to come together soon.

Loneliness has a way of magnifying every hope and every question about timing. When we sense God is guiding us, it helps to bring that sense quietly before Him and also before a couple of trusted, steady people who know us well. They can listen, pray with us, and help us sort through what we are feeling and what God may be showing us, so we don't have to carry the decision alone.

One gentle next step while you wait could be to share what you believe God has told you with a pastor or a mature believer you trust, before you make travel plans. Talking it through and praying together can bring more peace and clarity about the right timing and the right way to move forward.

We are also praying you have supportive community around you in these days, people to worship and spend time with, which often eases that isolated feeling while God works out next steps.

Father, we bring our friend to You and ask for Your nearness in this season of longing. Give wisdom, calm, and clear direction as plans are considered, and guard their heart with Your peace. Lead in the way that honors You and is truly best for everyone involved. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your words breathe a deep and earnest longing to see him again and to see what you believe are God's plans fulfilled soon. Such longings are not to be despised, for never did a holy longing after God's will grow up in the soul of itself. It is God who must work it, and it is precious even to desire His way.

Yet I would have you turn this longing first toward the Lord Himself. As Job cried, Oh that I knew where I might find Him, so let your first panting be, I opened my mouth and panted for Your commandments. Do you love God's name, His character and His revealed will, more than you love the fulfillment of your own desire. That is the test of a renewed heart, for God does not send into the world blank paper. He says, I will give you a new heart, I will write My law upon it, and that writing preserves the heart and the heart preserves the writing, even to the last expiring moments.

There is a holy art of waiting for the Lord, and blessed are all they that wait for Him. God's waiting people wait only upon God, not upon the arm of flesh, nor upon changeable feelings, and they wait in hope, not in despair. God's promise may tarry, but it never fails. If you believe God has spoken to you of going to him, bring that impression to the light of His Word which is preserved century after century with all its freshness and force. His voice will never contradict His Word. His ways are holy, and His decisions against sin and for righteousness are embodied in Christ. He calls us to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, whose blood cleanses from all sin, and He calls us to holiness, for marriage is His institution, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all that belongs to it is to be kept within that covenant in purity.

Therefore do not set bounds as to where you shall find Him, but be willing to hear God's side of the argument and to do right though the heart would hurry. If this reunion is of the Lord and leads toward that which is holy and pure, He will make the way plain in His time. If it is not, His law written upon your heart will keep you and restrain you, which is mercy.

Let us pray together. O God, You have taught us from our youth and Your wondrous works are before us, You are a waiting God full of grace to those who wait for You. Write Your law upon this heart anew. Forgive sin through the blood of Your dear Son, make holy and keep holy, and preserve in Your ways. Give a new heart that loves Your commandments more than its own plans. Grant light to know Your will, patience to wait for it, and strength to walk in it. Deal mercifully as You used to do unto those that love Your name, and let all longings be made to bow to Your holy and perfect will. Bring to pass only what will make Christ precious and make Your name glorious, and keep this soul close to Yourself until You bring it to Yourself at the last. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request to be reunited and to see him again has been heard, and your desire to follow God's plans is good. Longing for another person is powerful, and it is right to bring that longing before God and to ask Him to guide you.

Scripture teaches us to test what we believe we have heard from God. Feelings and impressions can be strong, but God speaks most clearly through His written Word, through wise counsel from mature believers, and through prayer that seeks His will above our own. Before you act on the thought that God told you to go to him soon, take time to wait, to pray, and to seek counsel. Ask whether this step would help you walk in holiness, patience, and purity, and whether it honors God.

We live as pilgrims and sojourners here, and one way we keep our hearts steady is to let a greater longing shape our lesser longings. When the desire for heaven and for Christ Himself grows, other desires find their proper place. They do not disappear, but they no longer rule us. That is why humility is so important. Rather than claiming certainty about what God has said, come before Him with an open heart that says, teach me, correct me, and lead me in Your way.

We also believe that God designed marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy and living together belong within that covenant. If your desire to reunite is romantic, the right path is to pursue holiness and to honor that design. That means keeping clear boundaries, seeking purity, and if a relationship moves forward, moving toward marriage openly and with the blessing of your church family, not through hurried or hidden steps.

We will pray with you, as the Lord promises to be present when His people agree together in prayer. We will not ask God to simply bless every reunion, but we will ask Him to do what is best and most loving for you.

We pray that God will give you wisdom and discernment to know His will, peace as you wait on His timing, strength to walk in purity and obedience, and a deeper longing for Christ that steadies your heart. May He surround you with wise counsel, guard your steps from haste, and make His path plain to you. If reunion is part of His good plan for you in a way that honors Him, may it come about in His time and in His way. Above all, may you find your joy and security in Christ Himself.

Please continue to seek Him daily in Scripture and prayer, and stay connected to faithful believers who can walk with you and help you discern next steps.
