Restoration

Disciple of Prayer
Heavenly Father please restore me and ###. May You ensure our relationship shows others the goodness of who You are. May we love our kids as You have directed us. In Jesus Name Amen.

We lift this request to our Heavenly Father with heavy hearts, for restoration is a beautiful yet sacred work of God. First, we must address the foundation of this prayer, it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name alone that we pray. There is no other name by which we can be saved, and no other name through which restoration can truly come. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." If you or have not placed your faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for true restoration begins with a reconciled relationship with God through His Son.

Now, regarding the restoration of your relationship, we must stand firmly on God’s Word. Marriage is a covenant, not just between two people, but before God, a sacred bond that reflects Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If there has been unfaithfulness, whether through emotional or physical infidelity, we must rebuke the sin of adultery in Jesus’ name. The Bible is clear in Hebrews 13:4, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." If there has been sexual immorality, repentance must come first, true restoration cannot be built on unconfessed sin. We pray that both of you would humble yourselves before God, seek His forgiveness, and turn away from anything that has defiled your marriage.

We also lift up your children, for they are a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3). Parenting must be done in a way that honors God, with discipline, love, and instruction in righteousness (Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:4). If there has been neglect, anger, or division in how you’ve raised them, we pray for healing and wisdom to parent as God commands.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for true restoration, not just of a relationship, but of hearts, minds, and spirits. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of division, unforgiveness, or unrepentant sin that may be hindering this marriage. We declare that what the enemy has meant for destruction, You will turn for good (Genesis 50:20). We pray for and this individual, that they would seek You first, submit to Your will, and walk in obedience to Your Word. Father, heal their wounds, soften their hearts, and restore their marriage to be a testimony of Your grace and power. May their love for one another and for their children reflect Your love for the Church. We ask for wisdom, patience, and perseverance as they rebuild what has been broken. May their home be a place of peace, unity, and godly love. We pray all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you both to seek godly counsel, whether through a pastor, Christian marriage counselor, or trusted believers who can walk with you in this season. Restoration is possible, but it requires humility, repentance, and a commitment to God’s design for marriage. Stand on His promises, and do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). May the Lord bless you and keep you as you seek Him above all else.

We’re grateful you reached out, and we’re joining you in asking the Lord to bring restoration to your marriage. When a relationship has grown strained or distant, one of the most powerful things we can do is intentionally reengage our hearts. So often the drift sets in not through one big event, but through slowly withdrawing our affection and attention over time. What would it look like today to open your heart to your spouse again, without waiting for everything to feel right first?

Maybe it begins with recalling the vows you once made to one another, not as a reproach, but as a way of reconnecting with the promises and the love that first drew you together. You might speak some of those words out loud to your spouse in the next few days, or write a short note that names one specific thing you still admire. Small, deliberate acts of warmth can begin to soften the places that have become hard, and that renewed tenderness often overflows to your children as they see their parents honor one another.

We also hear your deep desire that your relationship would reflect the goodness of God to those around you. That’s a beautiful, high desire, and it often grows most naturally as you simply let Jesus reignite a servant-hearted, forgiving love in the ordinary routines of your home.

Let’s pray together now.

Father, we lift up this marriage to You. Restore what has been worn or broken. Rekindle love, patience, and gentleness between them. Help them to guard their hearts and lean into each other with fresh courage. May their home be a place where their children see Your goodness reflected in the way they treat one another. Guide them in the daily decisions that shape their family, and let their relationship become a quiet, steady witness of Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Oh the love of God to you! He hears your cries and His compassions are moved towards you. Nothing touches Him like the groans of His children! Oh the love of God, that in the foresight of every grief and every sorrow that can ever befall His children, He pledges Himself never to forsake them!

Turn, O backsliding children, says the Lord; for I am married to you. Therefore, return to Him and you shall behold His face again and, in His Presence you shall, once more, bathe your soul with exceeding joy! I know that when they come back, they will love Christ better than ever, for they have had much forgiven! These are they who break the alabaster boxes and pour the precious ointment on their Savior's head.

So would He have us renew our love to Him. Our love to Christ makes us long to see our children love Him, too. I will not believe that you have any love to Christ unless you pray that your boys and your girls may also love Him. Dear children of godly parents, our heart's desire and prayer to God for you is that you may love your mother's God, and trust your father's Savior.

We must do so in order that we may manifest brotherly love and thus prove our sonship towards God. If you are converted yourself, seek the salvation of your children, of your own brothers and sisters and of all your household. Love was nurtured at the cross, amid the groans of an expiring God, beneath the droppings of his blood, it was there that love was nurtured. There is nothing but love that can create love, and love, itself, comes like droppings from the honeycomb.

Let us show our love by joying in Him as He joys in us! Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You lift a prayer to heaven for restoration, but I must ask: what is this relationship you seek to restore? For love is a noble thing, but it must be with knowledge and all discernment, lest under the pretense of love you embrace what God has not joined. You speak of showing others the goodness of God and loving your children as He directs. These are holy desires, yet they can only be fulfilled if the foundation is itself holy.

The Apostle commands, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness.” Now what is this holiness in matters of the flesh? If you are married, let the husband live with his own wife and the wife with her own husband, refusing every defilement. Marriage is honorable and the bed undefiled, but it does not itself grant holiness unless it guards the purity given by faith. If you are not bound by wedlock, then remain pure. To seek restoration of a bond that is not a lawful marriage is to call good what God calls fornication, and that will never show forth His goodness, no matter how tender the affection seems.

Perhaps you are indeed husband and wife. Then the hindrance is not the marriage itself, but a wrong use of it. Use marriage with moderation, and you shall be first in the kingdom. Seek not merely to be together again, but to be together in virtue. Pray for a husband or wife who fears God, for nothing is more pleasurable than orderliness and gravity. And love your children not with a love that excuses sin, but by setting before them a pattern of holy living, for that is to love as yourself.

But if this union is outside the covenant, you must pluck it out, though it be as dear as a right eye. It is no love at all when it causes you or another to stumble. Let the debt of love remain, but love with judgment. Pursue the peace that comes from holiness, and then your restoration will indeed be a testimony. May you attain that by the grace of Christ.

This prayer rises from a place that understands something vital: a restored life is the most compelling testimony of who God is. You are not simply asking for things to be patched up but for a change so genuine that others can see the goodness of the Lord in what is happening between you. That is a desire born not of a religious formula but of a heart that has been grasped by grace.

When Jesus came to Simon’s house, he found that his wife’s mother was sick with a fever. They simply told him about her, and he came, took her by the hand, and lifted her up. The fever left, and the immediate result was that she began to serve. That is the natural flow of restoration. When the power of Christ sets someone free, the instinct is not to take a class on how to be a witness; the instinct is to minister to others out of gratitude. The witness is the life itself, transformed and tender toward the Lord. What you long for in your family will be most convincing not when you are trying hard to display goodness, but when you are so aware of your own need for mercy toward each other that the Spirit’s work becomes unmistakable.

Remember that all sin is ultimately against the Lord. The restoration you seek begins in that recognition, because only he can truly forgive what lies between you. When there is genuine repentance and a turning, the result is not just a truce but a new closeness. The Scriptures show us a bond that can run deeper than natural family ties, a compound unity in Christ that makes his people truly one. Your marriage, your home, that is meant to be a living picture of that oneness.

There was a woman who had bled for twelve years, cut off from worship, cut off from community, her condition only getting worse. She was determined to reach Jesus, and when she touched him in faith, he called her “Daughter” and told her to go in peace. He restored her body and her place among God’s people. The Lord who did that is the same Lord who hears you. His hand is still able to lift up what has grown weak. Do not let discouragement convince you that he is far off. Press near to him, and trust that as he heals the inner places, the love you show your children and the mercy you extend to one another will flow naturally, like water from a cleansed spring.

May the Lord do this deep work in both of you so that your togetherness is a quiet, steady witness to his faithfulness.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for restoration—both in your personal life and in your relationship with ###. It has been our joy to lift you before the Lord, asking Him to renew, heal, and strengthen every area where brokenness has taken root. We have prayed that your relationship would become a living testimony of God’s goodness, reflecting His love and grace to all who see it, especially to your children. We asked the Father to guide you both in parenting with the same selfless, sacrificial love that Christ has shown us.

As the days pass, we encourage you to listen closely for the Lord’s voice and to watch for His hand at work, even in ways you may not yet recognize. If He has already answered this prayer in ways large or small, we would be so grateful to hear your praise report—your testimony could be the very encouragement someone else needs today. If you’re still waiting, please don’t hesitate to post this request again so we can continue interceding with you. We believe God is faithful, and we stand with you in expectation of His perfect timing.

May the Holy Spirit fill you with peace and assurance as you walk this journey, trusting in the One who restores what has been lost and makes all things new. We pray this in the powerful and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
