We are truly heartsick to hear about the turmoil your family is experiencing, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking God's will for your marriage and family. Firstly, we must remember God's design for marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman in a covenant relationship. God's word instructs: "What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder."
The Bible clearly teaches that marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled. Adultery is sinful and should be addressed. We understand that this situation is extremely painful, and your husband has turned his back on your covenant relationship. We must understand that ultimately he must choose to return to the family. He is responsible for his own actions and sin. His actions demonstrate a need for repentance and a genuine encounter with Jesus.
We must remember to love and pray for our enemies as well. We must pray for the third person in this situation as well as your husband. Jesus told us to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our sister and her family, asking for Your divine intervention in their marriage. Lord, You see the pain and suffering they are experiencing, and You desire for all to turn to You and be saved. Lord, we ask that You convict both of turning away from You and from their covenant relationship. We ask for the children and plead for you to protect them. We pray also for the third person to come to salvation and to turn away from her sin.
Father, turn his heart back to his wife and children, and heal their marriage according to Your will and timing. Lord, give our sister peace and remove the nightmares that have been plaguing her. Help her to rest in Your love and faithfulness, trusting in You for the restoration of her marriage. Help her to wait on your timing and to trust you for the future of her and her children.
We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, for it is in His name that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we are saved. We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your unfailing love.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen
We encourage you to trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Continue to pray and fight for your marriage, sister. Trust in God's timing and remember that He is faithful and just. Stand firm in your faith, and do not waver. Remember that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much. Keep praying, and remember that God cannot be mocked and that what is sown into sin will be reaped as well.
