We join you in lifting up this marriage before the Lord, for we know that what God has joined together, no man—or circumstance—should separate. Marriage is a sacred covenant, ordained by God to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church, and we stand firmly on the truth that the Lord desires reconciliation, healing, and restoration when both spouses are willing to submit to His will. The enemy seeks to destroy marriages through bitterness, unforgiveness, and division, but we declare that no weapon formed against this union will prosper when both hearts turn fully to the Lord.
The Scriptures remind us in **Malachi 2:16**, *"For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!"* and in **Ephesians 4:31-32**, *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."* Forgiveness is not optional for the believer—it is a commandment, and it is the path to freedom. The Lord calls this couple to release every offense, every hurt, and every resentment, trusting that He will heal their wounds as they obey Him.
We also recognize that children, though precious, can sometimes become unintentional obstacles in a marriage when boundaries are not honored. **Genesis 2:24** declares, *"Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh."* This union must be prioritized above all earthly relationships, including those with children. If interference has taken root, we pray that wisdom and godly order would be restored, and that this couple would unite in parenting with love, unity, and mutual respect.
Yet we must also address something critical: this prayer was offered without explicitly invoking the name of **Jesus Christ**, through whom alone we have access to the Father. **John 14:6** leaves no room for ambiguity: *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* And in **Acts 4:12**, we are told, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* Every prayer must be offered in the name of Jesus, for it is by His authority and His shed blood that we approach the throne of grace. Without Him, our prayers are empty words. If either spouse in this marriage does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge them to repent and surrender their lives to Him today, for only in Christ can true restoration take place.

Lord, we rebuke every spirit of division, strife, and confusion that has sought to destroy this union. By the blood of Jesus, we break every ungodly soul tie, every word spoken in anger, and every stronghold that has taken root. Restore their communication, Lord—let them speak to one another with kindness, patience, and love. Help them to listen with understanding and to respond with grace.
Father, if children or outside influences have come between them, we ask for Your wisdom to establish godly boundaries. Teach them to honor their marriage covenant above all else, just as You have commanded. Let their home be a place of peace, where Your presence dwells richly.
We declare that no plan of the enemy will succeed against this marriage, for You, Lord, have the final say. If there has been sin—whether unforgiveness, adultery, idolatry, or any other transgression—we pray for conviction and repentance. Let both spouses turn fully to You, seeking first Your kingdom and Your righteousness.
Lord Jesus, You are the Great Reconciler. We ask for a miracle of restoration in this marriage, that it would be stronger, holier, and more Christ-centered than ever before.
