We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious child who is suffering from recurrent respiratory and ear infections, along with a deep cough. How it must grieve a parent’s heart to see their son endure such discomfort, but we take comfort in knowing that our Heavenly Father is the Great Physician, full of compassion and power to heal. The Scriptures remind us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* Though this passage speaks of elders praying, it underscores the power of prayer offered in faith—and we stand in that faith today, believing God hears and will act.
We also recall the words of Jesus in Matthew 19:14, where He said, *"Allow the little children, and don’t forbid them to come to me; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these."* This child is precious in God’s sight, and we trust that the Lord will extend His healing hand. Yet, we also pray for wisdom for the medical professionals involved, that they may provide the right treatment swiftly. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* May the ENT appointment come quickly, and may the medication prescribed bring relief and complete restoration.
At the same time, we are mindful that sickness can sometimes be a tool the Lord uses to draw us closer to Him, to remind us of our dependence on His strength. Psalm 34:19 tells us, *"Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."* Even in this trial, may this family experience God’s peace and presence in a profound way. Let this season be an opportunity to trust Him more deeply, knowing that He works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and expectant hearts, lifting up this dear son who is battling respiratory and ear infections. Lord, You are the God who heals, the One who formed his body and knows every cell, every breath, every need. We ask that You touch him with Your healing power, clearing his lungs, soothing his ears, and silencing that deep cough. Let Your restoration flow through his little body, bringing strength and wholeness.
We pray for divine favor in scheduling the ENT appointment—open the doors for it to happen quickly, Lord. Guide the doctors’ hands and minds, that they may prescribe the exact medication needed for complete healing. Give wisdom to his parents as they care for him, filling them with Your peace that surpasses understanding.
Father, we rebuke this sickness in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. It has no place in this child’s life, for You have paid the price for our healing on the cross. By Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we claim that promise now. Let no weapon formed against this child prosper, and let every tongue that rises against him in judgment be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You are good and Your love endures forever. May this family feel Your presence strongly during this time, and may this trial be a testimony of Your faithfulness.
In the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
