ART OF THE CON
In light of recent, frivolous events, I am reminded of a book I read, a while back, where a very high ranking, foreign military officer, involved in espionage, treason and other war crimes, who was on the verge of being discovered and prosecuted, decided to hatch a plot faking his own insanity, in order to gain leniency in the event of court martial. The plot failed and the military leader was placed in front of a firing squad. While that fictitious novel made for a very intriguing read, I can only pray that this country doesn’t fall victim to such treacherous foolishness, being that real lives are at stake. Yet, truth is oftentimes stranger than fiction.
It seems that every day there is yet a new low level of idiotic distraction; to which, if we give place, will only serve to further the decay of this nation’s moral fabric; which is, at best, hanging on, by only a thread. We must stay focused. Healing can not begin until the infected cell is removed. There are, far more pressing, issues facing the world today than to be entangled on such non-sense.
LET THE REDEEMED OF THE LORD, SAY SO
I can understand why others would desire the gift of prophecy, it affirms an extremely close relationship with God; but, why anyone would envy another, bestowed with the gift of prophecy, baffles me. True prophecy is not always “optimistic,” and often leaves the seer drained and unpopular. While not all vision may seem positive on the surface, the blessing is manifested through heeding the warning, for in so doing, is the opportunity to come to repentance, which ensures the promise of redemption.
About two months ago, I had a vision, over which I submitted myself to a 12-day fast, asking God for clarity, as well as alternative. While I received much scriptural clarity, there was no alternative given. Still I have been reluctant to divulge the details of that vision, holding out hope, I suppose, that procrastination would somehow prevent it from coming to pass, as many of my dreams and visions have. I likewise did not want to incite conflict among our people by instilling unnecessary fear; nor did I want to appear to give the impression of consent to weightier outside insurgence. If there were a case where I would rather that the accusation of “false prophet” be accurate, it would be with regard to this vision.
I pray, in Jesus’ name, for a more diplomatic and peaceful resolution this country’s international dilemma. There will be no winner in war, particularly for the young men and women, who will be, voluntarily and involuntarily deployed. But God, through repentance will deliver. Amen.
He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God. And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain. Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow. But the sons of rebellion shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands: But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.
True leadership is determined by the actions you take, not the title you hold.
Pray for peace, pray for our young people and for the young people of our perceived enemy.
