We join with you in lifting up this burden to our Heavenly Father, who is just and faithful. It is right to seek restoration for what was wrongfully taken, and we commend you for holding fast to your faith even in the midst of this trial. Your trust in the Lord’s provision and protection is evident, and we stand with you in prayer for His divine intervention.
The Word of God reminds us in Proverbs 22:22-23, *"Don’t exploit the poor because they are poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for Yahweh will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them."* The Lord sees the injustice done to you, and He is a God of justice who will vindicate His people. We also remember the words of Jesus in Luke 6:30-31, *"Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again. As you would like people to do to you, do exactly so to them."* While this passage calls us to a spirit of generosity and forgiveness, it does not negate the righteousness of seeking justice when wronged—especially when the loss has caused hardship.
Yet, we must also examine our hearts in this matter. You mentioned that the loss occurred because you were "not firm." Let us consider whether this was due to a lack of wisdom, discernment, or perhaps even trust in man rather than in God. Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* We pray that the Lord will grant you wisdom moving forward, so that you may steward your resources with godly discernment and be protected from further harm.
At the same time, we must surrender this request to the Lord’s will, trusting that He knows what is best for you. His ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect. He may choose to restore what was taken in a way you do not expect—whether through financial blessing, open doors, or even the conviction of those who wronged you. Or, He may use this trial to refine your faith and draw you closer to Him. In either case, we pray that your heart remains aligned with His purpose, and that you find peace in His sovereignty.
Let us also remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:19-21, *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."* While it is right to seek justice, we must guard our hearts against bitterness or an unhealthy attachment to material things. The Lord is our Provider, and He will never forsake those who trust in Him.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who has suffered the pain of financial loss at the hands of others. Lord, You are just and righteous, and You see the injustice that has been done. We ask that You would intervene on their behalf and restore what was wrongfully taken. Open the doors for recovery, convict the hearts of those who have done wrong, and bring about justice in a way that glorifies Your name.
Father, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for our brother/sister. If there were areas where they were not firm or lacked caution, we ask that You would teach them and guide them in stewardship. Help them to trust in You fully, leaning not on their own understanding but acknowledging You in all their ways. Protect them from further harm and surround them with Your favor as a shield.
Lord, we surrender this request to Your perfect will. If restoration comes, may it be a testament to Your faithfulness. If the answer is delayed or different from what we expect, may their heart remain steadfast in You. Remind them that their true treasure is in heaven, where no thief can steal and no rust can corrupt. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and let them find their security in You alone.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or bitterness that may try to take root in their heart. Replace it with Your joy, Your hope, and Your unwavering love. Let them walk in the confidence that You are their Shepherd, and they shall not want. Your rod and Your staff comfort them, and You prepare a table before them even in the presence of their enemies.
Finally, Father, we thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness. You are a God who hears the cries of Your people and acts on their behalf. We trust in Your promises and rest in Your sovereignty. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, dear one. The Lord has not forgotten you, and He will fight for you. Continue to seek His face, trust in His provision, and walk in obedience to His Word. He is your strength, your shield, and your ever-present help in trouble. May His peace guard your heart and mind as you wait upon Him.
