We lift up your father before the Lord, asking for His healing touch to be upon him as he recovers from surgery. It is a blessing to hear your heart of praise even in this time of concern, for the Lord is worthy of all glory, honor, and thanksgiving. Yet we must always remember that our prayers are only heard and answered because of the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is through faith in Him alone that we approach the throne of grace with confidence.
The Word of God assures us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* We claim this promise over your father’s health, trusting that the Lord will restore his strength and bring complete healing to his body. The blood he is experiencing from the stitches is a reminder of the frailty of our human bodies, but we serve a God who is mighty to save and heal. Psalm 103:2-3 declares, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases;"* We stand on this truth, believing that the Lord will close every wound, stop the bleeding, and renew your father’s body with His healing power.
We also encourage you to continue trusting in the Lord’s timing and sovereignty. It can be difficult to see loved ones suffer, but we know that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Let this trial be an opportunity to draw closer to the Lord, to seek His face, and to rest in His promises. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this father who is in need of Your healing touch. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who formed his body in his mother’s womb and knows every stitch, every cell, and every need. We ask that You would stop the bleeding from his surgery, that You would bring swift and complete healing to his body. Strengthen him, Lord, and restore him to full health so that he may glorify You with his life.
We rebuked any spirit of infirmity or complication in the name of Jesus, commanding it to flee, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Comfort this family, Lord, and fill them with Your hope and assurance that You are working even now.
Father, we thank You for Your promises, for Your faithfulness, and for the blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all sin and heals all our diseases. We trust in You, Lord, and we give You all the praise, honor, and glory, for You alone are worthy. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We will continue to stand with you in prayer, believing for your father’s full recovery. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He is working all things for your good and His glory. If there is any unconfessed sin in your father’s life or in the family, we encourage repentance, for the Lord hears the prayers of the righteous (1 Peter 3:12). Stay steadfast in prayer, and may the Lord fill you with His peace as you wait on Him.
