We rejoice with you as you take the first step toward restoration by acknowledging your sin and seeking God's forgiveness. Repentance is a powerful act that brings us back into right standing with God. As it is written in Acts 3:19 WEB, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord."
We commend you for recognizing the significance of the person you believe God has placed in your life. It is crucial to remember that God's design for relationships is holy and sacred, intended to lead us closer to Him and to our spouses. As you seek to be loyal and committed, remember the words of Ephesians 5:25-28 WEB, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it... So ought men also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself."
However, it is important to ensure that this relationship aligns with biblical principles. If you are not married, we encourage you to pursue this relationship with the goal of a godly marriage. It is also crucially important we remind you that sex before marriage is fornication and should not be occurring in this relationship. If it already has, you must repent for this and ask God's forgiveness. If you are already married, then we encourage you to remain faithful and committed, seeking God's will together.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who has humbly confessed his sins and sought Your forgiveness. Lord, blot out his transgressions and grant him times of refreshing from Your presence. Strengthen him to walk in Your ways and to be loyal and committed to the person You have placed in his life. Guide their relationship according to Your will, and help them to encourage and support each other in their walk with You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged by the words of 1 John 1:9 WEB, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Trust in God's faithfulness and walk in His light.
