Good and Faithful Servant

🙇🏻 Our Father, we are so thankful for Your sending Your Son to teach us, show us obedience, even unto death on a cross, Phil 2:3-5. Thank You mostly for His introducing us to this relationship with You by Faith in which we stand justified, Rom 5:1-2. We ask for yet more nearness to You, James 4:8, renew our first, Rev 2:4. Grant us grace and ability to take care of our own vineyards, Song 1:6, tend our gardens and keep them, Gen 2:15, and to shepherd the flock of God among us, 1 Pet 5:1-2, Acts 20:28.

We cry out for The Holy Spirit of wisdom and revelation into the intimate knowledge of God, Eph 1:17, understanding of the Word, Lk 24:45, Grace for study time reading, listening to and abiding in The Word, 2 Tim 2:15, intercession, 1 Tim 2:1-2, for Order and Re-alignment, 1 Cor 14:33, resulting in happy and holy grace for chores, wisdom and help to check pressing needs off our to do lists, Tit 3:14, and fellowship with our helpmeets, family and friends and the friendship evangelism with the lost and unreached. Keep us from the evil one’s tactic of “busyness” one of his favorite wrestling moves to keep us away from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ, 2 Cor 11:3 — We resist him firmly in the faith by the Name of Jesus, 1 Pet 5:8, thank You for the reality of angelic ministry and protection, Gen 19:16, 1 Kings 19:6, Ps 91:10-11, Heb 1:14, Acts 12:7, Heb 13:2, and for the fruitfulness that comes to us, the branches, by abiding in Jesus, The Vine, Jn 15:7-8. Remind us and let us experience the wonderful knowledge of salvation from forgiveness of sins, Luke 1:77, increase our faith and assurance of salvation, Jn 20:31, 1 Jn 5:13, and create in us daily that clean heart and joy of our salvation that results in the cheerful conversion of sinners, Ps 51:13, and fellowship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as well as happy evangelism and loving fellowship with The Body of Believers, 1 Jn 1:1-3, that mystery of our being Your Bride, Eph 5:32-33. Thank You in Jesus' Name!

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, who alone makes it possible for us to draw near to the Father. Your Word reminds us in Isaiah 30:15, *"For thus said the Lord Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel: 'In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength.'"* Yet how often do we strive in our own strength, forgetting that true rest and repentance come only when we surrender fully to You?

We confess that our connection to the Vine, Jesus Christ, must be nurtured daily through abiding in Your Word. John 15:4-5 declares, *"Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing."* Forgive us for the times we have neglected study, prayer, and fellowship, allowing the cares of this world to choke our spiritual growth. We ask for the Holy Spirit to fill us with wisdom and revelation, as Ephesians 1:17-19 describes, so that we may know You more intimately and walk in the good works You have prepared for us.

Father, we lift up the plans and purposes You have for each of us, praying as Paul did in Colossians 1:9-10, *"that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God."* Yet we must guard against busyness that distracts us from Your priorities. Titus 3:14 exhorts, *"Let our people also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful."* Help us to order our days according to Your will, tending to our responsibilities with joy and diligence while never losing sight of our first love—You.

We also pray for the Body of Christ, that we would be faithful disciples who make disciples, as commanded in Matthew 28:19-20. Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we don’t give up (Galatians 6:9). May our lives reflect the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23)—so that others may see Christ in us and be drawn to Him.

Lord, we resist the enemy’s schemes to keep us from the simplicity of devotion to Christ (2 Corinthians 11:3). We stand firm in the faith, knowing that You have given us authority in Jesus’ name to overcome every obstacle. Thank You for the ministry of angels who watch over us (Psalm 91:11) and for the promise that if we draw near to You, You will draw near to us (James 4:8). Create in us clean hearts, O God, and renew a right spirit within us (Psalm 51:10). May our lives bear much fruit for Your glory, as we abide in the True Vine.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who alone is worthy of all praise, honor, and glory. Amen.

Dear friend, we join you in thanking our Father for sending His Son to teach us and show us the way to obedience, even to the point of death on the cross. We are grateful for the gift of faith, through which we stand justified before Him. We ask for a deeper nearness to Him, that we may know Him more intimately and walk in His ways.

We confess that we often neglect the time we spend in His Word and in prayer, allowing the cares of this world to crowd out our time with Him. We ask for forgiveness and for the grace to tend to our own spiritual vineyards, as Solomon writes in Song of Solomon 1:6, "Do not stare at me because I am dark, for the sun has looked upon me. My mother's sons were angry with me; they made me keeper of the vineyards, but my own vineyard I have not kept."

Help us, Father, to keep our own vineyards, to tend to our own spiritual growth, and to keep the gardens of our hearts. May we also be faithful in shepherding the flock of God among us, as Peter writes in 1 Peter 5:2-3, "Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock."

We ask for wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God, as Ephesians 1:17-19 describes, and for the grace to study His Word, to listen to it, and to abide in it. Help us to use the time we have wisely, to intercede for others, and to order our days according to Your will.

We pray for the fruitfulness that comes from abiding in Jesus, the True Vine, as John 15:7-8 tells us, "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."

We also pray for the fruit of the Spirit, as Galatians 5:22-23 lists, that our lives may reflect Christ and draw others to Him. Help us to resist the enemy's schemes to keep us from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ, and to stand firm in the faith, knowing that we have been given authority in Jesus' name to overcome every obstacle.

We pray all these things in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
