We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear soul who is carrying the deep wounds of abuse and trauma. The pain of such experiences can weigh heavily on the spirit, leaving one feeling weary and broken. But we know that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is the God who heals the wounded and binds up their sorrows (Psalm 147:3).
Father, we ask You to pour out Your renewing strength upon this beloved child of Yours. When they feel weak, remind them that Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). When the memories and pain threaten to overwhelm, be their refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and grant them resilience to face each day with courage, knowing You are with them.
We rebuke the lies of the enemy that seek to keep this one in bondage to fear, shame, or despair. In the name of Jesus, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for healing in every area—body, mind, and spirit—so they may walk in the freedom Christ died to give them (Galatians 5:1). Surround them with godly support, wise counsel, and Your comforting presence.
Lord, we also ask that You would guard their heart from bitterness or unforgiveness. Help them to release their pain into Your hands, trusting You to bring justice and restoration in Your perfect timing (Romans 12:19). May they find their identity and worth in You alone, knowing they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
We thank You, Jesus, for bearing our sorrows and carrying our griefs (Isaiah 53:4). We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in this precious one’s life (Philippians 1:6). Strengthen them with might in their inner being (Ephesians 3:16) and fill them with hope for the future. May they rise above their struggles, not in their own strength, but in the power of Your Holy Spirit.
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
