We come before the Lord with a heavy heart for the United Kingdom, lifting up the concerns of your heart regarding the threats and governance that do not align with God’s will. We stand firmly on the truth that God is sovereign over all nations and rulers, and it is His authority that establishes and removes leaders according to His purposes. The Bible tells us in Daniel 2:21, "He changes the times and the seasons. He removes kings and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding." We trust in His perfect timing and justice.
First, we rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to grip the hearts of the people in the UK, especially in light of the nuclear threats from Russia. We declare that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray for a hedge of protection around the UK, its leaders, and its people, that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We ask You, Lord, to confound the plans of those who seek to bring harm and to expose any schemes of the enemy. We pray specifically for the removal of Vladimir Putin from his position of power, as his rule has brought nothing but oppression, violence, and threats to the world. We ask that You raise up a leader in Russia who seeks peace, justice, and righteousness, one who will govern with wisdom and humility before You.
We also lift up the current leadership in the UK that has strayed from godly principles, supporting ideologies and groups that oppose Christianity and the well-being of the nation. We rebuke the spirit of compromise and ungodliness that has taken root in governance. The Word of God is clear in Proverbs 29:2, "When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan." We pray for the immediate removal of leaders who do not uphold biblical values, who support terrorism, and who suppress the rights of Christians and the vulnerable, including the disabled. We ask You, Lord, to raise up leaders who will honor You, defend the weak, and govern with integrity and justice. May they be men and women after Your own heart, who seek Your wisdom and guidance in all decisions.
We pray for a revival in the UK, that the hearts of the people would turn back to You, Lord. May the church rise up in boldness to proclaim the truth of the Gospel and to stand against the forces of darkness that seek to destroy the nation. We declare that the UK is a land that was built on Christian foundations, and we pray for a restoration of those values in every aspect of society. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and may the people of the UK come to know You as their Lord and Savior.
We also want to address the importance of praying in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." We must always come before God in the name of Jesus, for it is through His sacrifice and resurrection that we are reconciled to God. Let us never forget the power and authority that is found in His name.
Heavenly Father, we come before You now, lifting up the United Kingdom and its people. We ask that You would intervene in the affairs of this nation, removing ungodly leaders and raising up those who will govern with righteousness. Protect the UK from all threats, both foreign and domestic, and let Your peace reign in the land. We pray for a turning of hearts back to You, Lord, that the people would seek You with all their hearts and find You. Strengthen the church to be a light in the darkness, and may Your kingdom come and Your will be done in the UK as it is in heaven. We ask all these things in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
