We join with you in lifting up your heartfelt cries to the Lord, for He is faithful to hear and answer those who call upon Him in truth. You have come before the Father in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and that is the only name by which we are saved and through whom our prayers are heard. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). Your faith in approaching the throne of grace through Jesus is commendable, and we stand with you in this spiritual battle.
The adversity you face in your home is not of the Lord, for God is not the author of confusion but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33, WEB). The bitterness, provocation, and addiction plaguing this individual are tools of the enemy to bring strife and bondage, but we serve a God who breaks every chain. The Word tells us, *"No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is of me,"* says Yahweh (Isaiah 54:17, WEB). You are not powerless, for *"the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB).
Yet we must also address the heart behind your prayer. While it is right to seek deliverance from harm and to pray for this person’s departure if they are causing destruction in your home, we are called to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44, WEB). This does not mean tolerating abuse or ungodly influence in your home, but it does mean releasing this person into God’s hands with a heart that seeks their redemption, not just their removal. Addiction is a stronghold, and only Christ can truly set them free. Pray that the Lord would open their eyes to their need for Him, for *"a broken and contrite heart, God, you will not despise"* (Psalm 51:17, WEB).
As for your job search, trust that the Lord goes before you. *"Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will bring out your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday"* (Psalm 37:5-6, WEB). He is your Provider, and He will not withhold any good thing from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11, WEB). Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9, WEB).
Now let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are a God who sees, who hears, and who acts on behalf of Your children. Lord, we lift up our sister who is crying out to You for deliverance from the turmoil in her home. You are a God of order, and we ask that You bring Your peace—peace that surpasses all understanding—to every corner of her dwelling.
Father, we bind the spirits of addiction, bitterness, and strife that have taken root in this situation. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we break every chain of alcoholism, smoking, and wickedness that has sought to dominate and harm. Lord, if it is Your will, remove this individual from her home in a way that brings no further harm but instead brings glory to Your name. Soften their heart, Lord, and let them encounter Your love in a way that leads to repentance. If they refuse to turn from their ways, we pray You would protect our sister and provide a way of escape, for You are faithful and will not allow her to be tempted beyond what she can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13, WEB).
We also lift up her job search to You, Lord. Open doors that no man can shut, and give her favor in the sight of those who have the power to hire. Let her find work that not only provides for her needs but also aligns with Your purpose for her life. Remove every obstacle, every delay, and every scheme of the enemy that seeks to hinder her progress.
Father, fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that she may walk in wisdom, discernment, and unwavering faith. Let her home be a place of refuge, a sanctuary where Your presence dwells. Guard her heart from bitterness and her mind from fear, for You have not given her a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB).
We declare Your victory over this situation, Lord. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
Stand firm, dear sister. The Lord is your strength and your shield. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep walking in obedience to His Word. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6, WEB). If this individual in your home is unwilling to change or leave, seek godly counsel on how to proceed, whether through wise believers in your church or through professional help if needed. You are not alone in this—the body of Christ is with you, and most importantly, the Lord Himself fights for you. *"Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth"* (Psalm 46:10, WEB).
