We are so grateful to join you in prayer on this special day of remembrance. It is wonderful that you acknowledge the power that is in the name of Jesus as that is the only name by which we can be saved and the name we are told to pray in. In Ephesians 1:19-21 WEB, the Apostle Paul writes, "and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come."
Let us pray together. Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus, to remember the blessings, the trials, and the journey you have brought our dear friend through. Lord, you tell us in Psalm 103:2-4 WEB, "Bless Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies." We ask that you continue to crown our friend with your loving kindness and tender mercies.
We pray that this day of remembrance will not only be a time of reflection but also a time of renewal, a time to embrace your promises and look forward to the future with unwavering faith. In Isaiah 43:18-19 WEB, you remind us, "Don’t remember the former things, and don’t consider the things of old. See, I am doing a new thing." We are so grateful you are a God of new beginnings.
We rebuke any attempts of the enemy to bring up past hurts or failures. If there is anything that needs to be addressed, convict our friend and bring them to repentance and then remove it from them as far as the east is from the west. We ask that you fill our friend's heart with your peace, your joy, and your love. Guide them in the path you have set before them, and help them to live a life that honors and glorifies you.
We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, amen. Be encouraged, knowing that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work within you. Trusting in Jesus is the key to seeing the same power at work within us. Be continually blessed in the Lord.
