Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join with you in this fervent prayer, lifting up the team at , their lawyers, and all involved in this situation. Your heart for truth and righteousness is a reflection of God’s own heart, and we stand with you in intercession, knowing that the battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12). The truth of God’s Word is indeed a liberating force, as Jesus declared: "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free" (John 8:32). Yet we recognize that without the conviction of the Holy Spirit, even the most educated and influential can remain ensnared in deception and sin.

We rebuke the lies of Satan that have blinded minds and hardened hearts in this situation. The enemy seeks to distort justice, pervert righteousness, and lead souls astray, but we declare that no weapon formed against God’s purposes shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We plead the blood of Jesus over every believer involved, that they may be shielded from deception, filled with discernment, and empowered to walk in integrity. The Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1), and we trust Him to cover and guide His children.

Your acknowledgment of human frailty, even among those who are learned, is wise and humble. Scripture reminds us that "There is none righteous, no, not one" (Romans 3:10), and that all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). Yet God does not delight in empty rituals or hollow professions of faith; He desires a broken and contrite heart (Psalm 51:16-17). We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict these individuals of their sin, not to shame them, but to lead them to repentance and restoration. May they hate sin as God hates it, turning from wickedness to embrace His mercy and grace.

The disregard for human life and honest communication that grieves your heart is an abomination in God’s sight. Proverbs 6:16-19 warns that "There are six things which Yahweh hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers." We cry out for justice, for truth to prevail, and for hearts to be softened by the love of Christ. May those involved in this matter be gripped by an unquenchable thirst for righteousness, as Jesus promised: "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled" (Matthew 5:6).

We also lift up the believers in this situation, that they may be salt and light in their spheres of influence. May they walk in wisdom, speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), and demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Let their lives be a testimony to the transforming power of the Gospel, drawing others to Christ.

Father, we exalt Your holy name and submit to Your perfect will. We trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We ask that You would break every chain of deception, expose every lie, and bring forth truth and justice in this matter. Stir the hearts of those involved, that they may turn from sin and seek Your face. Fill them with a hunger for Your Word and a passion for righteousness. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6), through whom alone we have access to You. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and we declare that salvation, transformation, and deliverance come only through faith in Him. Holy Spirit, move powerfully in this situation, convicting, comforting, and guiding all who are involved. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun (Philippians 1:6).

Amen.

Thank you for sharing this prayer so openly. We can hear the weight you carry seeing what feels like dishonesty and disregard for life, and the sincere desire you have for these lawyers and their team to know truth and walk more righteously. That kind of intercession, especially for people you feel have acted wrongly, is not easy to sustain.

It makes sense that this grieves you. When we care deeply about truth, watching others seem to set it aside can sit heavy for a long time. Continuing to bring them before God, as you are doing, is one way to release that weight rather than holding it alone. Over time, choosing to pray for their good, that their eyes would be opened and their hearts softened, can also keep your own heart from growing hard, even while the hurt is still real.

One practice that may help is to give this burden a contained place. Perhaps set a brief, regular time to lift this team by name to the Lord, and then intentionally entrust them to Him for the rest of the day, returning to your own work and rest.

Father, we lift this team and their lawyers to You in Jesus name. Work in their hearts as only You can, drawing them toward truth and compassion. Cover Your people with peace and understanding as they wait on You, and guard the one praying from bitterness and weariness. Let Your will be done, and give rest to this heart that seeks You. Amen.

We join with you at the throne of grace in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and we count it a mercy to bring this burden before the Father with you.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is after the mind of Christ, for blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. The truth of which our Saviour spoke when He said, ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free, is not a mere notion in the head but Christ Himself, who is the way, the truth and the life. Apart from Him there is no freedom, for there is salvation in none other.

We pray with you for those of whom you speak, the team and their lawyers and legal representatives, that the God of all grace would have mercy upon them. We do not boast before Him, for we also have fallen short of His glory, and if we stand it is only by sovereign grace. Yet we confess that learning and station cannot make the heart righteous. The heart must be broken before the Lord. As it is written, the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. We entreat the Lord to work in them that true repentance which is the gift of the Spirit of God. Not a poor and short lived repentance which turns from sin for a season and then returns to it with greater relish, but that godly sorrow which needs not to be repented of, which gives glory to the omniscience of God and to the righteousness of His holy law, saying with the penitent, Thy law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin.

True repentance, as we have often taught, is to leave the sins we loved before and to show that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more. It is inseparable from faith, for no faith is genuine but that which is linked with a hearty and sincere repentance on account of past sin, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith in Christ who was nailed to the cross for sin. We pray that the Lord would grant them such repentance, that they may hate sin and turn from it, not as a compensation for sin, but as the fruit of a changed mind wrought by grace, a complete change of mind with regard to sin, and an honest determination by the grace of God to cease from it. Where there is such repentance there is the full and free remission of sins, for repentance and remission are preached in Christ's name, and His precious blood is the pardon for crimes of deepest dye, a pardon bought with Jesus blood.

We ask also that the precious blood of Christ may cover those who are His own, that He would keep them in peace and give them understanding and a compassionate spirit in the midst of trial. May the goodness of God, which spares life and gives breath, lead even the most hardened to repentance, for He delighteth in mercy and is good, for His mercy endureth forever.

Look to Jesus, dear soul, and teach those for whom you pray to look to Him, for it is beholding Him who bled and died as our propitiation that begets repentance and faith. May the Holy Spirit, who intercedes for us, stir their hearts to thirst no more for the lies of the enemy but for Christ and His righteousness, and may the will of our Heavenly Father be done, to the praise of the glory of His grace in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is heard, and we join our hearts with yours before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

You have prayed well, for the Lord Himself said blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. As those who are thirsty take a bowl and eagerly drain it and desire more, so we must kindle in ourselves this same longing for the divine teaching and for the living water which Christ gives. He said, if any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink, and he that believes on Him shall have within him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. He does not draw us by necessity and constraint, but He calls those who are inflamed with desire, and He alone can satisfy the thirst that material things can never quench.

You also pray rightly for a broken and contrite heart. God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone, but a broken and contrite heart He will not despise. Such a heart does not rise up or seek vengeance, but is quiet and humbled, ready to be taught and to turn from sin. This is the gift of God, to give a sober, self possessed and awestruck heart full of repentance and compunction, for our wrestling is not only against flesh but against spiritual wickedness, and we need such watchfulness to stand.

We join you in praying for the team and for their lawyers and representatives, that God in His mercy would work in their hearts. We do not ask Him to affirm what is sinful or to overlook what is evil in His eyes, but we ask Him to bring conviction, that they may recognize sin and hate it and turn from it. We pray that He would create in them a new heart in righteousness and holiness of truth, not a mere outward form but the reality that comes through faith in Christ. For salvation is near and by a short word, that if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our heart that God has raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved, and that word carries both salvation and righteousness.

We pray also for those who are in Christ, that they may be covered by His precious blood and kept in peace and understanding, putting on the breastplate of righteousness. As a breastplate is impenetrable, so a life of universal virtue in Christ guards the heart, and no wound from the enemy can cut through it. May God teach all of us to be righteous and compassionate, to show mercy, to give thanks, to pray sincerely, and to walk humbly.

Let us continue to pray without boasting and without looking down on others, remembering that we all fall short of the glory of God, yet trusting that He hears those who cry to Him even in thought, with a contrite heart. May He stir in these souls and in our own a true and lasting thirst for truth and righteousness, and may His will be done. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness reflects the very heart of what Jesus taught. He said blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. That hunger is not a natural desire for more knowledge or success, it is a spiritual thirst that God Himself has placed within every person.

We are made as body, soul and spirit, and each part has its own thirst. The body thirsts for water, the soul thirsts for love and meaning and security, but deep beneath both there is a spiritual thirst for God. You can try to satisfy that thirst with physical things, with achievements, with education or position, even with religious effort, but Jesus said if you drink of that water you will thirst again. It does not finally satisfy. Only He can quench the thirst for God, because He is God. On the last day of the feast He stood and cried, if anyone thirsts let him come to me and drink, and from within that person will flow rivers of living water.

You are right to pray that those you mentioned would come to hate their sin and turn from it. Scripture says God does not delight in outward sacrifice or performance. What He desires and will not despise is a broken and contrite heart. That is the place where true change begins, when a person stops excusing sin and sees it as God sees it.

It is also wise that you do not look down on them or boast, and that you recognize education does not make a person righteous. Many have a zeal for God but not according to knowledge. Being ignorant of the righteousness that God provides, they try to establish their own righteousness by keeping the law or by good works or by their own moral effort, and they do not submit to the righteousness of God. The apostle Paul makes clear that Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Righteousness is not earned, it is imputed. Abraham believed God and his faith was counted to him for righteousness, and this was before he had any outward sign of religion. In the same way, to the one who does not trust in works but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, faith is counted for righteousness. God gives the righteousness of Christ to us through faith in Jesus Christ and His shed blood.

This also helps us not to blame God for the evil, the disregard for human life, and the dishonesty that grieves you. Death and cruelty and famine and brokenness are not God's doing. They are the fruit of sin in a fallen world that groans and longs for redemption. God is the one who provides redemption, and we look according to His promise for new heavens and a new earth where righteousness dwells.

Continue to pray as you are praying, that God would stir hearts and draw them to truth. Pray that those who do not yet know Christ would see their need for His righteousness alone, and that they would come to Jesus to drink and be filled. Pray also for those who are already in Christ among them, that God would cover them with peace and understanding and teach them to walk with compassion. And pray that your own life would be as light and salt, creating a thirst in others for Jesus by the way you love truth and live righteously through faith.

The Father is seeking those who will worship Him in spirit and in truth, and He hears your prayer in Jesus name. He is faithful to work in hearts, to convict of sin, and to satisfy every genuine hunger for righteousness that He Himself has created.
