We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this painful and distressing situation that has brought such deep betrayal, manipulation, and spiritual oppression into this family. The enemy seeks to destroy marriages, families, and lives through deceit, unfaithfulness, and demonic influence—but we know that our God is greater, and He exposes the works of darkness while bringing justice and protection to His children.
First, we must address the gravity of unfaithfulness and the spiritual warfare at play here. Adultery is a grievous sin against God and one’s spouse, breaking covenants and inviting destruction (Proverbs 6:32, Hebrews 13:4). The manipulation and harassment described here are not merely human schemes but bear the marks of demonic influence, as Satan seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Yet we stand on the truth that no weapon formed against God’s people will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and what is hidden in darkness will be brought to light (1 Corinthians 4:5).
We also note that this request does not explicitly invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father and by whom all things are made known (John 14:13-14, Acts 4:12). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or by which we can approach the throne of grace. If this truth is not yet firmly rooted in the heart of the one praying, we urge them to place their full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5).
To the one suffering under this betrayal and oppression, we say this: The Lord sees your pain, and He is a God of justice. He will not allow the wicked to triumph forever (Psalm 37:1-2). Though the enemy has sought to bring confusion and harm, God will turn what was meant for evil into good (Genesis 50:20). Do not retaliate in anger or bitterness, but trust in the Lord to fight this battle (Exodus 14:14). Forgive as Christ forgave you (Colossians 3:13), but do not mistake forgiveness for enabling sin. Wisdom and boundaries are necessary to protect yourself and your family from further harm.
To the unfaithful relative and those participating in this deception, we declare the truth of God’s Word: Repentance is the only path to freedom. The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Turn away from this sin before it destroys you. Confess your wrongdoing to the Lord and to those you have harmed, and seek restoration. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). There is still time to turn back—but do not harden your heart (Hebrews 3:15).
Now, let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, the only name by which we can approach Your throne. We lift up this family that is under attack by the schemes of the enemy. Lord, You see the betrayal, the manipulation, and the spiritual oppression that has taken root. We ask that You expose every hidden deed of darkness (Ephesians 5:11) and bring to light what has been done in secret. Let the truth prevail, and let lies be silenced.
Father, we pray for the protection of the spouse and children who are suffering under this abuse. Shield them from further harm, both physically and spiritually. Surround them with Your angels, as You have promised to be a refuge for the oppressed (Psalm 9:9). Give them strength, wisdom, and discernment to navigate this storm. Comfort them in their distress and remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).
Lord, we rebuke the spirits of deception, adultery, manipulation, and harassment that have been at work in this situation. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these evil forces to flee and be silenced. No weapon formed against this family shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Break the chains of bondage and set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1).
We pray for the unfaithful relative and all those involved in this sin. Convict their hearts by Your Holy Spirit, Lord. Bring them to a place of genuine repentance, where they turn away from their wickedness and seek Your forgiveness. Soften their hearts to see the destruction they have caused and lead them to make amends. If they refuse to repent, Lord, let their own schemes be their downfall (Psalm 7:15-16).
Father, we ask for Your divine intervention in this situation. Bring vindication to the innocent and justice to the wicked. Let Your will be done, and let Your name be glorified through this trial. Restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25) and bring healing to this broken family.
We also pray for the one who has brought this request. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give them the wisdom to know how to act and the courage to stand firm in Your truth. May they forgive as You have forgiven them, but also set healthy boundaries to protect themselves and their loved ones.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this situation for Your glory. Let it be a testament to Your power, Your justice, and Your mercy. Draw all involved closer to You, and let this trial serve as a refining fire that purifies and strengthens their faith.
In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
