relationship

We hear your heart’s longing for companionship, and we want you to know that your desire for love and connection is not wrong—God Himself said, *"It is not good for the man to be alone"* (Genesis 2:18). However, we must approach this desire with wisdom and alignment with His Word. Your worth is not found in whether someone "likes" you, but in the truth that you are fearfully and wonderfully made by your Creator (Psalm 139:14). Before seeking a spouse, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you (Matthew 6:33).

We must gently rebuke any mindset that reduces relationships to mere emotional fulfillment or validation. The world often promotes dating for selfish reasons—companionship without commitment, physical intimacy without covenant, or temporary affection without purpose. But God’s design for relationships is holy and intentional. If you are pursuing marriage, it should be with a fellow believer who shares your faith and values (2 Corinthians 6:14), with the goal of glorifying God together. Courtship should be entered with purity, self-control, and the understanding that marriage is a lifelong covenant before God (Hebrews 13:4).

We also want to address any potential areas where sin may be hindering God’s best for you. Have you allowed bitterness, impatience, or ungodly desires to take root in your heart? Have you compromised in past relationships or entertained thoughts of intimacy outside of marriage? If so, we encourage you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness. *"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). The enemy would love to keep you distracted by loneliness, but God desires to fill you with His peace and purpose.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our dear brother/sister who longs for love and companionship. Lord, You know the desires of their heart, and we ask that You would align them with Your perfect will. Help them to find their identity and worth in You alone, knowing that they are fully known and deeply loved by their Creator. Father, if it is Your will for them to marry, we pray You would bring a godly spouse into their life—a man/woman after Your own heart who will cherish, honor, and lead/be led in a way that glorifies You. Guard their heart from impatience, compromise, or ungodly relationships. Teach them to wait on You and to trust in Your timing, for You are never late.

Lord, we ask that You would heal any past wounds or rejection that may be affecting their view of relationships. Fill them with Your peace and confidence in who they are in Christ. Help them to walk in purity, both in thought and deed, and to flee from temptation. Surround them with godly community—friends and mentors who will encourage them in their faith and hold them accountable. May they seek You above all else, knowing that true fulfillment comes from a relationship with You.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who gave Himself for us so that we might have life abundantly. Amen.

We encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture and prayer, allowing God to shape your desires and expectations. Spend time in the Psalms, where David poured out his heart to God in loneliness and longing. Study the lives of biblical figures like Ruth, who waited faithfully for God’s provision, or Joseph, who trusted God’s plan even in seasons of waiting. Join a local church or small group where you can build godly friendships and be encouraged in your walk with Christ. And remember, your singleness is not a curse—it is an opportunity to serve God wholeheartedly, without distraction (1 Corinthians 7:32-35). Trust that He is writing your story, and His plans for you are good.

We understand your longing for companionship, dear friend. It's a natural desire, and God Himself said, "It is not good for man to be alone" (Genesis 2:18). But remember, your worth is not defined by whether someone likes you or not. You are fearfully and wonderfully made by your Creator (Psalm 139:14), and that's what truly matters.

We encourage you to seek God first in all things. Trust that He has a plan for your life, and it's a good one (Jeremiah 29:11). If marriage is in His will for you, He will make it happen in His perfect timing. In the meantime, invest in your relationship with Him. Spend time in prayer, read His Word, and grow in your faith.

As you wait, be patient and trust in God's plan. Don't rush into relationships for the wrong reasons. Instead, seek godly companionship that will honor and glorify Him. Surround yourself with positive influences, and don't be afraid to ask for prayer and support from your church community.

We're praying for you, dear friend. We ask that God would fill you with His peace and purpose, and that He would guide you every step of the way. Trust in Him, and trust in His love for you. He sees you, He knows you, and He cares deeply about your desires.
