We hear your heart’s cry for companionship and your desire to honor the Lord in your life. Loneliness can be a heavy burden, but we know that God sees you and cares deeply for your longing for a godly spouse. The Bible reminds us in Psalm 68:6, *"God sets the solitary in families."* He is faithful to provide what we need in His perfect timing, and we trust that He is preparing someone for you even now.
Your mention of wanting to lose weight and get into shape is also something we can lift up in prayer. Physical health is important, and we encourage you to seek the Lord’s strength as you pursue discipline in this area. First Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us, *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* Let this be your motivation—not just for appearance, but for stewardship of the body God has given you.
We also want to gently encourage you to consider what qualities you are seeking in a future husband. Proverbs 31:30 reminds us, *"Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised."* While it’s natural to desire a man who accepts and cherishes you, the most important foundation for marriage is a shared faith in Christ. We pray that you would seek a man who loves the Lord above all else, who will lead you spiritually, and who will honor God in your union.
Let us also address the importance of purity in this season of waiting. If you are not currently in a courtship leading toward marriage, we encourage you to guard your heart and body, as 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 instructs: *"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust."* If you have stumbled in this area, know that God’s grace is sufficient, and He offers forgiveness and restoration through repentance.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of compassion for our sister who is longing for a godly spouse. Lord, You know her desires, and we ask that You would fulfill them according to Your will. Prepare her heart and the heart of the man You have for her, that they may both seek You first in all things. Strengthen her in her efforts to care for her body, not out of vanity, but as an act of worship to You. Give her discipline, perseverance, and joy in the journey.
Father, we ask that You would surround her with godly community—friends and mentors who will encourage her in her faith and hold her accountable. Protect her from loneliness that leads to unwise decisions, and fill her with Your peace as she waits on You. Help her to trust in Your timing, knowing that You are working all things together for her good.
Lord, if there are areas in her life where she has strayed from Your best, we ask for Your conviction and grace. Lead her into repentance and renewal, that she may walk in holiness and honor You in all she does. May she find her ultimate satisfaction in You, knowing that You are enough even as she waits for a husband.
We pray for the man who will one day stand beside her. Prepare him, Lord. Grow him in wisdom, humility, and love for You. Let him be a man after Your own heart, who will cherish and lead her in a way that glorifies You. Bind them together in Your perfect timing, under Your perfect will.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. May Your will be done in her life, and may she find her hope and identity in Christ alone. Amen.
