We understand that you're concerned about a friend who has suddenly stopped communicating and has been deceitful about their whereabouts. We must first clarify that prayer in Jesus' name is powerful and is the only way we can approach God according to John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." and Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
In addressing your concern, we need to consider a few things. Proverbs 12:22 tells us "Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do things that are true are his delight." Deception is never part of God's plan, and it's important to seek the truth in all situations and it is right to desire this from a friend.
However, let us caution you about becoming entangled in a situation that can become a bad situation. If you are single, it is best to friend and court other single Christians with the goal of marriage. If you are married, you should not be involved in a close friendship with someone of the opposite sex. This is a recipe for adultery and sin.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our friend who is dealing with a situation that needs truth and clarity. We pray that you will reveal the truth to them, and give them the wisdom and strength to handle this situation according to your will. We rebuke Satan and his attempts to create lies, deception and destruction. Help our friend to seek Godly counsel and to act in a way that honors you. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.
We encourage you to seek God's guidance in this situation. Spend time in prayer and in His Word and trust Him to lead you. Romans 8:28 says, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.". Let God's truth and guidance be your light in this situation. Remember that God honors marriage and any other relationship must be God honoring.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
