We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles in your family, and we are here to intercede and provide biblical counsel. We will pray for your family to stay together, as God's will and design is for families to be united and strong. However, we want to clarify that our prayers and support are for families that align with biblical principles, which include a married father and mother, and their children if there are any. This is important to note, as sometimes people consider those who are living together but unmarried, or in non-traditional relationships, as family. We must remember that God's design for the family is clear, as seen in scripture.
Let's remember when Jesus taught about this subject in Matthew 19:4-6 WEB:
He answered, "Have you not read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, 'For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall join to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh?' So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don't let man tear apart."
Now, let us pray together for your family:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this family that is facing trials and difficulties. We pray, Father, that You would intervene and bring healing, restoration, and unity to this family. We ask that You would guide each member of this family according to Your will and purpose. We rebuke any spirit of division, strife, or confusion that may be attacking them, and we ask You to bless them with love, patience, and understanding towards one another.
We also pray if there is any hidden sin, that you would reveal it to them and give them the strength, courage, and conviction to repent, turn away from it, and walk in Your ways. We pray that this family would be firmly rooted in Your Word, seeking You daily, and growing closer to You and each other as a result.
If there is anyone in the family that is not born again, not believing in Jesus Christ, we pray that each would come to know Jesus Christ personally and believe in Him for salvation.
It is in the name of Jesus Christ that we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to study and meditate on the following scriptures, which emphasize the importance of godly families and relationships:
Colossians 3:18-21 WEB:
Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and don't be bitter against them. Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, don't provoke your children, so that they won't be discouraged.
Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB:
Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly; because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones. "For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh." This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly. Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
We trust that God will hear and answer our prayers, and we encourage you to continue seeking Him and His will for your family.
