We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you're facing in your relationship. Before we begin, we want to remind you that God is always ready to listen and help when we call on the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. As the Scripture says, "in no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12 WEB.
In your message, you mentioned that the relationship is about to end due to your mistake, but you didn't provide to us any details. Was this a relationship with another Christian Believer? Was this a relationship looking toward marriage or was it with a spouse?
Was this relationship based on fornication or adultery? "Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." Hebrews 13:4 WEB. "Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness," Galatians 5:19 WEB. Was this relationship homosexual in nature? "Don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God's Kingdom? Don't be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit God's Kingdom." 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 WEB.
First, we encourage you to take responsibility for your actions and seek forgiveness from both God and the other person. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 WEB. Remember God's grace and forgiveness are always available, but do not use God's grace as a license to willfully continue to sin.
"What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? May it never be! Don't you know that to whom you present yourselves as servants to obedience, his servants you are whom you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness? But thanks be to God, that, whereas you were bondservants of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching whereunto you were delivered. Being made free from sin, you became bondservants of righteousness." Romans 6:15-18 WEB.
Next, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB. Seek God's will for your life and trust that He has a plan for you. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 WEB. We pray that you will find strength and comfort in God's promises.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister/brother who is going through a difficult time in her/his relationship. We ask for Your forgiveness for the mistakes committed and pray that You would grant her/him the strength to take responsibility for her/his actions.
Guide her/him, Lord, as she/he seeks Your will for her/his life. Comfort her/him with Your promises and give her/him hope for the future. We ask that You would restore what has been broken and bring healing to both parties involved.
Help her/him to trust in You and not lean on her/his own understanding. In all her/his ways, may she/he acknowledge You, so that You can make her/his paths straight.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you during this time. "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2 WEB. Don't hesitate to reach out to us again if you need further guidance or prayer.
