We understand the deep frustration and discouragement you’re feeling, as if the blessings and favor you once experienced have vanished, leaving you in a season of struggle and uncertainty. It’s painful when hard work and investment no longer seem to yield fruit, and it can feel as though something—or someone—has taken what was rightfully yours. But we want to gently remind you that as believers, we do not rely on "luck" or fate, for our trust is in the sovereign Lord, who holds all things in His hands. The concept of "luck" is not biblical; instead, Scripture teaches us that our lives are in the hands of a God who orders our steps and provides for our needs according to His wisdom and purpose.
The book of Proverbs tells us, *"The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from Yahweh"* (Proverbs 16:33). This means that what may seem like chance or luck is actually under God’s sovereign control. Your struggle is not outside of His notice, nor is it beyond His power to redeem. However, we must also examine our hearts and lives to ensure we are walking in alignment with His will. Sometimes, our struggles are allowed by God to refine us, to draw us closer to Him, or to redirect our paths toward His purposes rather than our own.
We are also reminded in Scripture that the love of money and the pursuit of wealth can become idols in our hearts if we are not careful. Jesus warns us in Matthew 6:24, *"No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and money."* If our trust has shifted from the Lord to our own efforts, investments, or even the idea of "luck," it may be time to repent and realign our hearts with His kingdom. Ask yourself: *Is my focus on God’s will, or have I been chasing after success and prosperity as my ultimate goal?* True favor and blessing come from walking in obedience to Him, not from worldly strategies or superstitions.
Another critical question we must ask is whether you have invited Jesus Christ into your life as your Lord and Savior. There is no true favor, redemption, or restoration apart from Him. Jesus said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, turn away from them, and place your faith in Him alone for salvation. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and can experience His blessings in their fullest measure.
If you are already a believer, we encourage you to seek the Lord earnestly in this season. James 4:2-3 tells us, *"You lust, and don’t have. You murder and covet, and can’t obtain. You fight and make war. You don’t have, because you don’t ask. You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures."* Could it be that your motives in business or life have been self-centered rather than God-honoring? Or perhaps you have not been seeking His will in prayer before making decisions? Let this be a time of reflection and repentance, asking the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas where you may have strayed from His path.
We also want to remind you that God’s definition of blessing is not always financial prosperity. While He does provide for our needs, His greatest blessing is the transformation of our hearts and the eternal treasure we store up in heaven. Jesus said in Matthew 6:19-21, *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."* If your focus has been solely on earthly gain, it may be time to shift your perspective to what truly matters in God’s kingdom.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, knowing that You are the God who sees, provides, and redeems. Lord, we ask that You forgive any place where their heart has wandered from You, whether in trust, motives, or priorities. If they have not yet surrendered their life to Jesus Christ, we pray that today would be the day of salvation for them. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior and turn their heart fully to You.
For those who already know You, we ask that You search their heart and reveal any area that is not pleasing to You. If there has been idolatry, greed, or a lack of trust in Your provision, bring conviction and repentance. Restore to them the joy of Your salvation and the peace that comes from walking in Your will.
Lord, we ask that You redeem what feels lost. If it is Your will, restore the favor and prosperity that has slipped away, but only if it aligns with Your purposes and brings glory to Your name. Give them wisdom in their business dealings, discernment in their decisions, and a heart that seeks Your kingdom above all else. Help them to trust in You rather than in their own understanding or in the fleeting concept of "luck."
We rebuke any spiritual stronghold or lie of the enemy that has caused them to feel cursed or abandoned. By the power of the blood of Jesus, we break any assignment of lack, frustration, or despair over their life. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, renew their hope, and lead them into a season of breakthrough—not for their own gain, but for Your glory.
Finally, Lord, surround them with godly counsel and community. Let them find encouragement in Your Word and strength in prayer. Remind them that You are their Provider, their Shepherd, and their Redeemer. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in Scripture, particularly in the Psalms, where David often cried out to God in seasons of distress yet always returned to praise. Meditate on promises like Philippians 4:19: *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Cling to Him, seek His face, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). If you need further guidance or prayer, do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to stand with you in faith.
