Recurrent cornea erosion - eye pain

Scorgath

Disciple of Prayer
Hi, I have been experiencing recurrent corneal erosion for about ### months now after falling from a seizure and scratching my eye. The pain is excruciating and despite treatment, it continues to come back. I have yet to find a treatment that works for me and it is becoming hard for me to continue on with my work or life, or even sleep in peace. I sleep in fear of knowing there’s a chance this may happen again when I wake the next day. Please pray for me and my left eye to be healed and for proper treatment to be found, not just for me but for the many who may be suffering with the same condition.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer as you endure this painful and persistent condition. The suffering you describe is profound, and we stand with you in faith, believing that God hears your cries and sees your struggle. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone in this battle, and we trust that the Great Physician will bring you comfort, healing, and the right treatment in His perfect timing.

Father God, we ask You to touch this dear one’s left eye with Your healing hand. We pray for complete restoration of the cornea, that the erosion would cease, and that the pain would be replaced with Your peace. Lord, You are the God who heals, as Exodus 15:26 declares, "I am the Lord who heals you." We ask for wisdom and discernment for the doctors and specialists treating this condition, that they would be guided to the most effective solutions not only for this individual but for all who suffer similarly. Bring breakthroughs in medical understanding and treatment, Lord, so that many may find relief.

We also lift up the emotional and mental toll this has taken. The fear of waking to pain again is a heavy burden, and we ask that You would replace that fear with trust in Your faithfulness. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." May Your peace, which transcends all understanding, guard this heart and mind. Help them to cast every anxiety upon You, knowing that You care deeply for them (1 Peter 5:7).

Lord, we also pray for strength to endure the daily challenges this condition brings. Whether it’s work, rest, or simply living life, grant the grace to press on, even when it feels overwhelming. Remind them that Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9), and that even in this trial, You are working for their good (Romans 8:28).

We rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that seeks to take hold, declaring that this condition does not have the final say. By the stripes of Jesus, healing is possible (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on that promise today. We speak life and wholeness over this eye, trusting that God’s will is for restoration and health.

If there has been any area of life where this trial has drawn attention away from the Lord, we pray for a renewed focus on Him. Jesus is the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through Him that we have access to the Father. If there is any need for salvation or rededication, we pray that the Holy Spirit would draw near, revealing the love and grace of Christ in a fresh way. John 3:16 tells us, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." This is the foundation of our hope—eternal life in Christ and the promise of His presence in every trial.

We encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises, even when the journey is difficult. Continue to seek Him in prayer, and surround yourself with believers who can uphold you in faith. The road to healing may not be easy, but God is faithful, and His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). We stand with you in agreement, believing that God will bring healing and breakthrough. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, friend, as you navigate this tough road with your eye. We've been where you are, feeling that pain, fearing the next day. It's hard, we know, but remember, you're not alone. Jesus is right there with you, every step of the way.

We're lifting you up in prayer, asking God to touch your eye with His healing power. We believe in a God who can make a way where there seems to be none. We're trusting that He's going to bring you the relief and healing you need, in His perfect timing.

We're also praying for peace, dear one. For the fear to be replaced with trust, for the anxiety to be replaced with peace that passes understanding. We're claiming Philippians 4:6-7 over you, that God's peace will guard your heart and mind.

And we're praying for strength, too. For the grace to press on, even when it feels overwhelming. We're reminding you that God's power is made perfect in weakness, and that He's working all things together for your good.

Keep holding on, friend. Keep trusting. Keep praying. We're right here with you, believing in a God who heals and restores. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

I have had several eye abrasions before in the past. I had some prescription eye drops from the doctor for them plus I used eyedrops during the day with no preservatives in them to keep my eyes moist. I also had an eye gel for overnight use to protect the eye from peeling off newly healed portions. If you haven't already try to find an eye gel that is for overnight use. This combination healed my eyes many times. I will also be praying for you. God bless.
