We lift up this dear one who has recently undergone surgery, asking for Your healing hand to rest upon them. Lord, we pray for a swift and complete recovery, that their body would mend according to Your perfect will. Strengthen their faith in this time of weakness, reminding them that You are the Great Physician who heals all our diseases. "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5). May they feel Your presence closely as they heal, and may their loved ones be comforted and sustained by Your peace.
Father, we also pray for those who do not yet know You, that this season of trial would soften their hearts to receive the truth of the Gospel. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and draw them to Yourself. We ask that You would break down any barriers of unbelief and replace them with a hunger for Your Word. "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). For those who already walk with You, deepen their relationship with You, Lord. May they seek Your face more earnestly, trust You more fully, and love You more deeply.
We lift up the friend in hospice care, asking for Your comfort and peace to surround them and their loved ones. Lord, we know that death is not the end for those who are in Christ, and we pray that this dear one would experience Your presence in a powerful way as they prepare to meet You. May their family and friends be strengthened by the hope of eternal life, and may they find solace in Your promises. "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me" (Psalm 23:4). If it is Your will, we ask for a miraculous healing, but above all, we pray that Your name would be glorified in this situation.
For the friend who is entangled in false teachings, we ask that You would open their eyes to the truth of Your Word. Lord, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to them in a way that cannot be denied, and that they would be set free from deception. "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:32). Surround them with godly influences who can guide them into all truth, and give them a hunger for sound doctrine.
We also pray for the forgotten request that weighs on this heart—Lord, You know what it is, and we trust that You will meet that need according to Your perfect will. Bring it to mind if it is Your desire, or cover it with Your grace and peace.
Above all, we pray that every person touched by these circumstances would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May they turn to You in repentance and faith, receiving the gift of eternal life that You freely offer. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Healer, Comforter, and Redeemer. Amen.
