Beloved Servant
Please pray for me in trying to reconcile some estranged relationships. I almost gave up recently on doing so and thought God was leading me to give up because it's been a difficult process for certain reasons but I'm going to try again. Please pray. Thank you.

We join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord and we thank you for sharing your heart to try again even when the process has been difficult and discouraging. Estranged relationships bring deep pain, and the desire for reconciliation is close to the heart of God, for He Himself is the God of reconciliation.

We are encouraged by your perseverance, and we want to remind you what Scripture teaches about our part in reconciliation. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Romans 12:18 This shows us that reconciliation involves two hearts, and while we are called to do all that we can with humility, forgiveness, and love, we cannot control the response of the other person. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 and Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Colossians 3:13 These verses call us to examine our own hearts first, to release bitterness, and to extend the same grace we have received. If you are bringing your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Matthew 5:23-24 This shows how seriously God takes our pursuit of peace with others.

We also hear that you almost gave up and wondered if God was leading you to do so. There are seasons where God does call us to wait or to set healthy boundaries, and we should seek His wisdom continually. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. James 1:5 Yet we also want to encourage you not to grow weary in doing what is right. Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 The fact that reconciliation is difficult does not necessarily mean God wants you to abandon it. All things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:18 As God has reconciled us to Himself, He invites us to be ministers of that same reconciling love, with gentleness, patience, and truth. We encourage you to continue in prayer, to speak the truth in love, to be willing to humbly listen and to confess where needed, and to entrust the outcome to the Lord. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18 He sees your effort and your pain.

We noticed your request mentions God but does not mention Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through His name that we are saved and our prayers are heard. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can be forgiven and can also be empowered to forgive and seek reconciliation with others. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, turning from sin and believing in Him, for then you have peace with God and His Spirit to guide you in these relationships.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You. You know the estranged relationships, You know every hurt, every misunderstanding, every word spoken and unspoken, and You know the weariness that comes from a long and difficult process. We ask for Your wisdom to know when to speak and when to be still, when to press forward and when to wait on Your timing. Give a heart of humility and forgiveness, and help to love as You have loved us. We pray that You would soften hearts on both sides where there has been hardness, heal wounds where there has been pain, and open doors for honest, gracious communication if it is Your will. Where reconciliation is possible, we pray You would restore what has been broken for Your glory. Where the other person is not yet willing, we pray You would give peace and patience to continue to walk in love without bitterness. Let Your will be done in each of these relationships and let this dear one feel Your nearness and strength to not give up in doing good. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our peace. Amen.

We encourage you to keep praying, keep seeking God in His Word, and keep taking small faithful steps as He leads you, trusting that He is working even when you cannot yet see the fruit.

We appreciate you sharing this with us. Trying to reconcile after estrangement takes real heart, and it makes sense you felt close to giving up when the process has been so difficult for you. Your willingness to try again shows perseverance and care.

One insight that helps many people is that reconciliation is different from forgiveness. Forgiveness is something you can choose before God in your own heart, but rebuilding a relationship takes willingness on both sides and time to restore trust. Remembering that can take some pressure off as you take a next step. You can be faithful in how you reach out, while leaving the other person's response in God's hands.

As you try again, it may help to keep it focused and unhurried. You could choose one relationship to start with, spend time in prayer about timing and words, and talk it through with a trusted pastor or mature friend who knows the situation. A brief, kind outreach that expresses care and owns your part without demanding a particular outcome can open a door without forcing it. And it is okay to move slowly and notice whether the other person is open to that restoration.

Father, we bring our friend before You in Jesus name. Give wisdom for each next step, strength when discouragement rises, and gentleness in every conversation. Guard their heart from bitterness and from taking on what is not theirs to carry. Lead this effort according to Your will and grant Your peace in the process and in whatever comes next. Amen.

Your weariness in the length of your way has been heard, and we take your burden upon our hearts before the Lord.

You write that you almost gave up and thought God was leading you to do so, because the process has been difficult. It is a common temptation when the way is long to say, There is no hope. Yet the word of the Lord reminds us that while the lamp holds out to burn, hope remains. We are saved in hope, and hope that is seen is not hope, for if we hope for what we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. That patience is not a passive waiting but a believing, desiring and expecting that God is able to do what we cannot.

He is the God of Peace and He has prepared everything that is necessary for a perfect reconciliation. He has committed unto us the word of reconciliation because we speak from experience of His mercy, having been reconciled to Himself through Jesus Christ, our only hope. If He has reconciled enemies unto Himself by the cross, we may surely look to Him to work in these estranged relationships according to His wisdom and holiness.

We would exhort you to perseverance without presumption. The promise of the everlasting covenant is, They shall not depart from me. True perseverance is perseverance in holiness, not in mere human striving. Therefore continue as God shall enable you, not walking after your own devices, but seeking His will, speaking the truth in love, and leaving the result in His hands. The brightness of a ray of hope this very morning may by His grace become an actual hope in His perfect time.

We will pray for you, that the Lord would give you strength to continue where it is right to continue, wisdom to know how to seek peace without compromising what is holy, tenderness and humility in every approach, and a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. May He guard you from fainting, establish you in the hope of your calling, and work reconciliation where it will bring glory to His name and good to souls. May He grant that any reconciliation sought and granted would be such as honors Him, and that you may find your deepest comfort not in the outcome alone, but in being at peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

We will plead earnestly with the Lord for you, that His power would rest upon you and upon those from whom you are estranged, and that His will be done.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing this burden with us. Your desire to seek reconciliation is good and pleasing to God, even when the process is painful and difficult and you have felt like giving up.

Scripture shows us that perseverance in seeking what is good is honored by God. As with the Canaanite woman who continued to ask even after hearing hard words, and the Lord still gave her request because of her perseverance, we learn that though we may feel unworthy or weary, we often by perseverance become worthy to receive. Do not grow discouraged that this has taken time. God uses that very persistence to shape our hearts.

We also remember that we were once estranged from God, and He was displeased with us in our sin, but Christ became the Mediator between the Father and us and prevailed to make reconciliation for us. He is the true pattern for all reconciliation. Because He has reconciled us to God through His own sacrifice, we have both the example and the strength to pursue reconciliation with others.

That work requires much humility, much prayer, much endurance and much perseverance. Reconciliation is not sustained by insisting on our own way, but by the humility that brings unanimity and peace, putting the good of the other before our own. Continue then to try again as you have purposed, not in your own strength, but asking God to give you a humble and gentle spirit, wisdom to know what to say and when to be silent, and grace to love even when it is not returned at once.

We join you in prayer:

Father, we thank You that through Jesus Christ alone You have made reconciliation for our sins and brought us near when we were far off. We ask You to look with mercy on this dear one who longs for estranged relationships to be healed. Grant perseverance where there has been weariness, and humility where there has been hurt. Give wisdom in every word and step, and guard against discouragement. Where reconciliation is possible, open the door and soften hearts on both sides. Where there must be waiting, grant patience and trust in Your timing. Help this one to continue faithfully, not fainting, and to rest in Your will above all. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Mediator and our peace. Amen.
