Good and Faithful Servant
I am going to try reconciling with some people who I have not spoken to in years in a few minutes. My problems with these individuals have been rooted in and affected by a lot of spiritual warfare. Please pray as I am trying to see if this is what God wants me to do in order to be forgiving. I'm trying to be obedient to Him. In some ways, the spiritual warfare is making it hard. Thank you.

We join with you in prayer as you step into this significant moment of seeking reconciliation and we thank you for your desire to be obedient to God and to walk in forgiveness. Your heart to forgive and to pursue peace is pleasing to the Lord and reflects His own heart toward us.

We understand that spiritual warfare can make obedience feel heavy and confusing and we want to remind you that this battle is real. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. The enemy seeks to keep division, bitterness, and unforgiveness alive, but God has given us authority and protection in Christ. Therefore we encourage you to put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil Ephesians 6:11 and to pray for discernment to know if this specific timing and approach is indeed God's will.

Scripture calls us to forgive as we have been forgiven. Bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do Colossians 3:13 and Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32. Forgiveness is an act of obedience we offer to God regardless of the other person's response. Reconciliation, however, also depends on the other person and requires mutual humility and repentance. We are told If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18. We pray you will extend forgiveness freely and pursue peace humbly, while also trusting God with the outcome and not carrying guilt if the others are not ready to reconcile.

We also noticed your request speaks of God and obedience to Him but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We gently share this because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by placing our faith in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are forgiven and empowered to forgive others. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Him.

We now pray together for you.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. We ask for Your wisdom and clear guidance in these next few minutes and hours. Show if this reconciliation is Your will and give words that are seasoned with grace, truth, and humility. We ask that You guard this heart and mind from the schemes of the enemy, that You would give peace that surpasses understanding and courage to obey You even when spiritual opposition feels strong. Lord, help to forgive fully as You have forgiven us, to release any bitterness, and to desire restoration where it honors You. Let Your Holy Spirit lead this conversation, soften every heart involved, and let Your will be done. If reconciliation is to happen, let it be for Your glory and for healing. If not yet, give grace to continue walking in forgiveness and peace. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to pray continually before and after you reach out, to remain rooted in Scripture, and to seek wise counsel from mature believers as you discern next steps. Trust that God sees your obedience and will honor it. For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. We are standing with you and trusting God to work for good in this situation.

We're glad you reached out in this tender moment. Reaching out after years apart takes real courage, and we hear your desire to be obedient and forgiving even while you feel that heavy spiritual pressure making it hard to think clearly.

One insight that helps many people is that forgiveness and reconciliation are not exactly the same. Forgiveness is something you can settle in your own heart before God, first as a decision and then as a slower softening over time. Reconciliation is the rebuilding of trust and relationship together, and that takes willingness on both sides. You can be faithful in offering grace even if the other person isn't ready to meet you there, and that can take some pressure off this first conversation.

As you head into these next few minutes, it may help to keep it simple and grounded. Take a quiet moment to breathe and pray before you begin, hold one clear intention in mind such as expressing that you have forgiven and desire peace, keep the time fairly short, and give them room to respond in their own way without needing to resolve everything today. Having someone you trust praying nearby and having a kind way to close if emotions run high can help you stay steady and leave the outcome in God's hands.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now. Calm their heart and guard them from confusion and discouragement. Give wisdom for each word, help them be faithful to what You are asking, and grant Your peace whether this door opens now or needs more time. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your request and we join you in prayer as you stand at this tender and weighty moment seeking to do what is right before the Lord.

Your desire to be obedient and forgiving is itself a gracious work of God in your heart. Obedience is the highest practical courage, for to persist in scrupulous obedience may need more courage than the martyr shows in a single hour. It calls for exactness, not turning to the right hand or to the left, and for a sincere seeking to know the Lord's will, bowing reverently before Him and saying, What would You have me to do. We pray that the Lord will give you that courage and that clarity now.

We pray also that you may know the forgiveness which is with God. There is forgiveness with Him, a divine and surprising and complete forgiveness, not by measure but in fullness through Jesus Christ who died, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. He not only forgave at the first, but continues daily to forgive, and that forgiveness is eternal. Having received such forgiveness yourself, you are now made able by His grace to forgive as you have been forgiven, for it is a joint work of mutual forgiveness among the people of God. Yet even this forgiving spirit must be guided by wisdom, so we ask that the Lord will show you whether and how this reconciliation is His will in this hour.

We bring your struggle against spiritual warfare before the throne of grace. We ask the Lord to guard your mind and heart, to rebuke the adversary, to clothe you in the whole armor of God, and to let you stand calm and happy in Him even as you go forth on His errand. As those women who ran in obedience to tell the disciples and were met by the risen Savior on the way, so may you find that in the path of obedience you are met, assured, and refreshed by Christ Himself.

We pray that God will grant you a spirit of prompt and wholehearted obedience, strength to do all that He commands, gentleness and truth in every word you speak, discernment to speak or to wait as He directs, and peace to leave the outcome in His hands. May He keep you from hardness of heart and from haste, and may He make your obedience not grievous but joyful, yielding the peaceable fruits of righteousness.

May the Lord go before you in these next minutes, make your way plain, cover you with His protection, and let all that is done be for His glory and for the good of souls. We ask this trusting that there is forgiveness with Him and that His commandments, when obeyed in faith, lead to blessing. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing this honest request and your desire to be obedient to God. Your willingness to forgive and to pursue reconciliation is itself a reflection of the grace you have received in Christ, and I am praying for you as you take this step in just a few minutes.

I have prayed that God will give you wisdom, humility, and peace as you reach out, and that He will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. The Scriptures teach us that Christ Himself is our Mediator who made reconciliation for the sins of the people when we were estranged from the Father. Because we have been forgiven so much, we are called to have a gentle and forgiving spirit toward others, and God promises a great reward to those who forgive as they have been forgiven.

At the same time, forgiveness in the heart and reconciliation with others are not always the same. You are right to ask whether this is what God wants and to seek to obey Him with fear and reverence. I prayed that He will make His will clear to you, that He will give you words that are truthful and gracious, and that He will help you to walk in lowliness and love without pride or boasting.

You mentioned spiritual warfare making this hard, and that is real. Our struggle is not only against flesh and blood. I prayed for the Lord to protect you from the enemy's schemes, to clothe you with His armor, and to remind you that Christ has already overcome through His obedience even unto suffering. Ask Him to keep you close to Himself, to give you discernment to know what to say and what not to say, and to give you strength to do what is right even if the other persons do not respond as you hope. As far as it depends on you, to live at peace with all is pleasing to God, and He sees and honors obedience offered in faith.

May the Lord grant you a calm and clear mind in these conversations, a heart that is quick to listen and slow to speak, and a deep assurance of His presence. If reconciliation is possible, may He bring healing. If it is not yet possible, may He still establish your heart in forgiveness and peace, and continue to conform you to Christ.

Father, I bring this dear one before You now. Grant wisdom for this moment of reconciliation, courage to obey You, grace to forgive as You have forgiven, and protection from all spiritual opposition. Let Your will be done and let Your name be honored in every word and response. In the name of Jesus our Mediator, amen.

Your desire to obey God and to walk in forgiveness is pleasing to Him, and it is right to seek His will in this step of reconciliation.

Wanting to forgive is the beginning, but God calls for complete obedience, not partial obedience. When we leave a small area of the flesh undealt with, it will return to hinder our spiritual life and growth. Scripture tells us to make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its desires, but to walk according to the Spirit. The struggle you describe as spiritual warfare is real, and the way to stand in it is to keep your relationship with God first and to rely on His strength rather than your own resolve. If your relationship with Him is kept right, other relationships have a way of coming into better order. Many broken relationships can be traced back to a need for that vertical relationship to be restored and strengthened.

Forgiveness is to be patterned after God's forgiveness toward us. We have been forgiven so fully through Jesus Christ, not because we earned a righteous standing by keeping the law, for the law only shows us our sin and our need, but because Jesus shed His blood to both forgive our sins and to give us power over sin and to separate us from it. This new covenant stands not on our faithfulness but on His. Because we have received such mercy, we are called to be followers of God in this, forgiving as we have been forgiven and walking in love as Christ loved us and gave Himself for us with a self sacrificing love. That is why Jesus taught that forgiveness is not limited to seven times, but is to be extended freely from the heart, and why we pray, forgive us as we forgive others.

As you take this step, seek wisdom to act in love and humility, to speak truth with grace, and to submit your own desires to the Lord. Forgiveness does not always mean the other person will respond as you hope, but you can still obey by releasing the offense to God and choosing to love as He has loved you.

I am praying for you now, that the Lord will guard your mind and heart in Christ Jesus, give you clear discernment about what He wants you to do, protect you from the enemy's discouragement and confusion, fill you with His Spirit so you walk in His power and not in the flesh, and help you to extend the same forgiveness you have received. May He give you peace as you obey Him fully, and may this effort bring honor to Him whatever the outcome with others.
