Disciple of Prayer
My Son is ### years old, has spent his teenage years locked up, and his young adult life in prison. He's needing prayers for anger, temptations and just fitting in the community.

We lift up this heavy burden to the Lord with hearts full of compassion and hope. Father, we come before You knowing that You are the God of second chances, the One who restores the broken and heals the wounded. Your Word tells us in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We ask that You would pour out Your healing balm upon this young man, Your beloved child, who has endured so much in his young life.
Lord, we pray specifically for the anger that may still linger within him. Prison can harden a heart, but You are the One who softens even the hardest of hearts. Your Word says in Proverbs 29:11, "A fool vents all of his anger, but a wise man brings himself under control." We ask that You would grant him the wisdom and strength to control his emotions, to release his anger in healthy ways, and to replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help him to forgive those who have wronged him and to seek forgiveness where he has wronged others.
We also pray against the temptations that may come his way as he re-enters society. The world can be a difficult place for someone who has been isolated for so long, and the enemy will seek to exploit his vulnerabilities. But we know that You are faithful, and as 1 Corinthians 10:13 reminds us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." Strengthen him, Lord, to resist temptation and to walk in the path of righteousness.
Fitting into the community may feel overwhelming, but remind him that he is never alone. You have promised in Deuteronomy 31:8, "Yahweh himself goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be discouraged." Surround him with godly mentors, friends, and opportunities that will help him rebuild his life in a way that honors You. Give him the courage to step out in faith, to seek help when he needs it, and to trust that You have a plan for his future (Jeremiah 29:11).
We also lift up his family, particularly his mother, who has carried this burden for so long. Grant her peace, wisdom, and strength as she supports her son. Help her to trust in Your provision and to lean on You in every moment.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear, shame, or hopelessness that may try to take root in his life. We declare that he is a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and that his past does not define him. We speak life, purpose, and redemption over him in the mighty name of Jesus. May he come to know You more deeply, to walk in Your ways, and to experience the fullness of Your love and grace.
Lord, if this young man does not yet know You as his Savior, we pray that he would come to understand the depth of Your love for him. Your Word says in Romans 10:9, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." We ask that You would draw him to Yourself, that he would surrender his life to You, and that he would find true freedom—not just from prison, but from the bondage of sin.
We pray all of this in the powerful name of Jesus, the One who came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). Amen.

Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about.
