This weekend Lord Jesus we’ve had enough, need to get the right people to help with the garden issues and think these people might be scammers they were asking for all my info to work and may have caught them in a lie, I wouldn’t trust this canvassing position. Please bring Ore guidance discernment and wisdom in everything please.

We hear your heart in this and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord Jesus, for we know you have had enough of the rain and you are weary with these garden issues and the stress of trying to find trustworthy help.

We understand the desire to see the rain held back for the weekend, and we know that our God is sovereign over all creation. He sends the rain and He withholds it, as it is written Job 37:6 For he says to the snow, Fall on the earth, and to the pouring rain, Be strong. And we remember how Jesus himself rebuked the wind and the sea, Matthew 8:26 Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So we do not command the weather on our own authority, but we humbly ask the Father in Jesus name to show mercy and grant you a window of dry and favorable weather to tend to what needs to be done, trusting His perfect will and timing, for He makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust Matthew 5:45.

We also share your concern about these workers who may not be honest, and we commend your discernment in noticing that something did not seem right and that you may have caught them in a lie. The simple believes everything, but the prudent man carefully considers his ways Proverbs 14:15. It is wise and right not to trust quickly or to give out all your personal information to those who come canvassing without verification, for we are told to test all things and hold fast to what is good 1 Thessalonians 5:21 and Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God 1 John 4:1. Deceit and scamming is not from God, and we rebuke any spirit of dishonesty and greed that would seek to take advantage of you, and we pray that the Lord will expose what is hidden and protect you from harm.

We are praying with you for more guidance, discernment and wisdom in everything, and we take comfort that God delights to give it when we ask. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding Proverbs 2:6. We are asking that He will make your path clear and guard your steps, as He promises I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you Psalm 32:8.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, thanking You that we can approach Your throne with confidence through Him. Lord, we lift up this need for relief from the rain and ask if it be Your will that You would hold back the heavy rain this weekend and grant dry and workable days to address the garden. You know the burden this has been. We also ask for Your divine protection and wisdom regarding these workers. Reveal the truth about them, close the door on any who intend harm or deceit, and open the door to the right, honest and skilled people to help with integrity and at a fair price. Give keen discernment to recognize a lie and courage to say no and to guard personal information wisely. We ask that You would quiet any anxiety with Your peace, for we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Lead and provide, for our help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth Psalm 121:2. We trust You to supply what is needed and to keep this home in safety. We ask all this in Jesus name, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord and not lean solely on your own understanding, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. In practical terms, do not give out sensitive personal information, bank details or copies of documents to canvassers at the door. Ask for proper identification, business credentials, insurance and references, and seek recommendations from trusted neighbors, your church family or local reputable sources. Take time to verify before committing, and allow the Lord to show you through peace or lack of peace which way to go. He is faithful to guide you.

We hear the weariness in your note after a wet weekend and ongoing garden problems, and how unsettling it is to wonder if the people who came to your door are trustworthy. Getting one or two other quotes also gives you a clearer sense of what is reasonable for the garden work once the ground dries a bit.

Your burden has been heard and we bring it before the Lord with you. You have asked concerning the rain this weekend, the needs of your garden, and for wisdom to discern those who have come asking for your personal information and who may have spoken falsely, and for guidance about work that does not seem trustworthy.

Scripture teaches that wisdom is man's true compass by which he is to steer across the trackless waste of life, and its price is above rubies, neither shall it be valued with pure gold. It is not found in the counsel of the hasty or the deceitful, but in Christ Himself, who is the power of God and the wisdom of God, who planned the way of salvation and by whose wisdom the heavens were built. It is only when the grace of God softens and sobers us, when He gives wisdom, knowledge and discretion, that we begin to see our need of a Guide. Divine Wisdom, dressed in robes of love and tenderness, invites us to run into her arms.

Therefore take comfort in this, that bowing with submission to the will of God by that very fact we are furnished with unerring guidance. We may ask the Lord to show mercy concerning the weather, yet we also pray, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, for what You do is always best. Remember also that haste is the author of a great deal of mischief in human life, and holiness is as near akin to perfect wisdom as sin is to insanity. One great principle infused in every heart that takes God for his Guide is to avoid everything that is evil. Do not be hurried into giving what should be guarded, and do not trust those whose words do not agree with truth. Wait upon the Lord, seek counsel from those proven faithful, and let every decision be weighed in the light of His Word.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, You have promised to guide us with Your counsel and afterward receive us to glory, give to Your servant wisdom, knowledge and discretion. Grant discernment to see what is true and what is false, and keep this household from the snare of the deceiver. In Your providence provide honest and skillful hands to help with the needs of the garden if it be Your will, and grant patience to wait for Your provision rather than to run into haste. Rule over wind and rain according to Your perfect wisdom, and give a submissive heart to trust Your goodness in all weather. Lead us in the way of wisdom which is found in Christ, for His sake. Amen.

Your prayer for guidance and wisdom has been heard, and I join with you in bringing these concerns before the Lord.

It is right to seek discernment when you sense that something may not be honest, and to ask God for wisdom that is not of this world but from above. The wisdom that comes from God helps us see clearly when others may use deceit, and it guards our hearts from being led astray. As Scripture teaches, God gives wisdom to those who ask Him, and He loves to make His people wise and prudent in what is true.

I understand the weariness that comes with ongoing rain and garden troubles, and the added stress of wondering who to trust to help. God is sovereign over the weather and over all our daily needs, and we can ask Him for mercy and for favorable conditions while trusting His good providence. We do not command the heavens ourselves, but we humbly ask the Lord who holds all things in His hands to provide what is needed in His perfect timing.

Regarding those who asked for your personal information and whom you suspect of being dishonest, your caution is wise. Do not give out sensitive information to those you do not know and trust. It is prudent to step back from any canvassing position or work arrangement that does not seem truthful, to seek counsel from trusted people around you, to check references and credentials carefully, and to look for workers through reliable recommendations from your church or community.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come to You and ask for Your mercy and help. We ask that You would grant clear discernment and godly wisdom in every decision, that You would protect from any scheme or lie and lead to honest and trustworthy people to help with the needs at hand. Give peace where there is anxiety, and guide each step with Your counsel. Provide for the garden and home according to Your will, and help to rest in Your care through both rain and sunshine. Keep this dear one safe from harm and deception, and fill the heart with Your Spirit and with songs of trust in You.
