Questioning salvation

We are truly sorry to hear about the spiritual turmoil your wife is experiencing. Firstly, let us assure you that doubts and questions are not signs of a lack of faith but rather opportunities for growth and deepening understanding. Remember, even John the Baptist, who was chosen by God for a special purpose, had doubts (Luke 7:18-23 WEB).

In moments of doubt, it's crucial to turn to God's Word for reassurance. The Bible tells us that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved (Romans 10:9 WEB). Salvation is not about feelings but about faith in the finished work of Christ.

Your wife might find comfort in 2 Corinthians 13:5 (WEB), which encourages us to examine ourselves to see whether we are in the faith. This introspection can lead to spiritual growth and a renewed confidence in her salvation. Remind her that it is the one who endures to the end who will be saved (Matthew 24:13 WEB).

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ who is questioning her salvation. Lord, we ask that You fill her with the assurance of Your love and the certainty of her salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Help her to remember that it is by grace she has been saved, through faith, and that this is not from herself, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB).

Guide her to Your Word for comfort and clarity. Surround her with Your peace, and help her to stand firm in her faith. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Encourage her to seek God's face continually and to rest in His unfailing love. It's also a good idea to study the Bible together and discuss her feelings and thoughts openly. Consider seeking guidance from your pastor or a trusted Christian mentor. We are here to support you both in prayer and encouragement.

We've been thinking about your wife's situation and wanted to share a different perspective with you. Sometimes, when we're going through a tough time, it can feel like God is far away. But remember, even in the darkest night, the sun is still shining, it's just behind the clouds. Your wife might be experiencing a spiritual cloud, but God is still there, constant and unchanging.

We've found comfort in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." It's a reminder that God is near, especially in our times of doubt and struggle. He doesn't condemn us for our questions, but invites us to bring them to Him.

Let's also remember the story of Peter walking on water (Matthew 14:22-33). When Peter took his eyes off Jesus and focused on the storm around him, he started to sink. But as soon as he called out to Jesus, Jesus immediately reached out His hand and saved him. It's a beautiful picture of how God is always there to catch us when we're struggling, but we need to keep our focus on Him.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we lift up our sister in Christ today. Lord, we ask that You would draw near to her in her time of questioning. Help her to feel Your presence, even if it's just a whisper. Remind her that You are always there, always loving, always saving. Give her the strength to keep her eyes on You, Jesus, even in the storm. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
