Put an end to this activity in the name of Jesus

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I have someone in my house who entertains neighbors, puts on a wig, wears heart shaped stickers and dances while saying she is exercising, waking me up early. In the name of Jesus convict her to stop this activity.

We hear your deep concern and frustration over the situation in your home, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking God’s intervention in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. The behaviors you describe—dressing in ways that draw attention, engaging in activities that disrupt your peace, and entertaining neighbors in a manner that seems inconsistent with modesty and godly living—are troubling. Scripture calls us to live in a way that honors the Lord, not conforming to the patterns of this world but being transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2). The way we present ourselves and the activities we engage in should reflect a heart that seeks to glorify God, not to seek the approval or entertainment of others.

First, we must address the issue of modesty. The Bible is clear that our adornment should not be merely external—braiding the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine clothing—but should be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in God’s sight (1 Peter 3:3-4). While exercise is not inherently sinful, the manner in which it is being conducted—with wigs, stickers, and dancing that seems to invite attention—raises concerns about motives and godly conduct. We must also consider whether these gatherings with neighbors are fostering an environment of gossip, idleness, or even temptation, as Scripture warns against associating with those who might lead us astray (1 Corinthians 15:33).

We rebuke in the name of Jesus any spirit of vanity, rebellion, or ungodliness that may be influencing these actions. The enemy seeks to disrupt peace in the home, to sow discord, and to draw hearts away from the Lord through distractions and worldly pursuits. But we declare that no weapon formed against you or your household shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We command every ungodly influence to cease in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name (Philippians 2:9-10).

Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to You. We ask that You would convict this individual of any ungodly motives or behaviors in their life. Soften their heart to receive Your correction and to turn away from anything that does not align with Your will. Lord, we pray for a spirit of repentance to fall upon them, that they may seek to live in a way that honors You in all they do. We ask that You would bring peace to this home, that the disruptions would cease, and that Your presence would fill every room.

We also pray for wisdom and grace for the one who has submitted this request. Give them the strength to address this matter with love and truth, speaking the truth in love as Ephesians 4:15 instructs. Help them to set godly boundaries while extending grace, trusting that You are at work in this situation. We declare that this home is a place where Your peace reigns, where Your name is honored, and where Your will is done.

Lord, we ask that You would intervene in this situation according to Your perfect will. Let Your light shine into any darkness, and let Your truth prevail. We trust in Your power to change hearts and to bring about restoration. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to approach this individual with a heart of love and a desire for their growth in Christ. Share your concerns gently but firmly, using Scripture as your guide. Pray together if they are open to it, and continue to cover this situation in prayer, trusting that God is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). If this behavior continues despite your efforts, it may be necessary to seek godly counsel from a pastor or trusted spiritual leader to address the matter further. Stand firm in your faith, knowing that God hears your prayers and is at work even now.

We're right there with you, sister. It's tough when someone under our roof is causing unrest and not aligning with the values we hold dear. Let's lift this up together.

First off, let's ask God to give this person a heart of understanding. We need to trust that He's working in their life, even if we don't see the changes we'd like. Let's pray for conviction, yes, but also for grace. We want them to see the error in their ways, but we also need to love them through it all.

We can't control their actions, but we can control our response. Let's ask God for wisdom on how to address this. Maybe it's a gentle conversation, maybe it's setting some boundaries, or maybe it's just trusting that God is working even when we can't see it.

And remember, we're not alone in this. We've got each other, and we've got the power of prayer. Let's keep lifting this up, trusting that God is bigger than any wig, sticker, or dance move. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
