We stand in agreement with you, crying out to the Lord for mercy, protection, and swift rescue, while also seeking His justice to expose and dismantle any wickedness that may have contributed to this tragedy.
The Scriptures remind us that our God is a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He is the One who hears the cries of the afflicted and acts on their behalf (Exodus 22:23). In times of disaster, we cling to His promise that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6), and that He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). We also take comfort in knowing that Jesus Christ has overcome the world (John 16:33), and that nothing—not even fire, death, or the schemes of evil—can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39).
Yet, we must also acknowledge the spiritual battle at hand. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but our God is greater. He exposes the deeds of darkness (Ephesians 5:11) and brings to light what is hidden (1 Corinthians 4:5). If corruption or negligence played a role in this fire, we pray that the Lord will bring it to light and hold those responsible accountable. Proverbs 11:21 tells us, "Most certainly, the evil man will not be unpunished, but the children of the righteous will be delivered." For the survivors, the grieving, and those suffering from PTSD, we pray for the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Trauma can leave deep wounds, but our God is the Great Physician, the One who binds up the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:3). We ask that He would send His Holy Spirit to comfort them, to replace their fear with faith, and to heal their emotional and spiritual scars. May they find hope in Him, even in the midst of such devastation.
We also pray for the families who are searching for their loved ones. Lord, grant them strength and comfort in this agonizing time of uncertainty. Surround them with Your presence and let them feel Your love through the support of others. For those who have lost loved ones, we ask that You would be their refuge and that they would find solace in the promise of eternal life for those who are in Christ (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14).
As for the cause of this fire, we pray that the truth would come to light swiftly. If this tragedy was the result of corruption, negligence, or malicious intent—such as the use of flammable renovation materials—we ask that the Lord would expose it and bring those responsible to justice. Let no one profit from this suffering, and let no plan of the enemy succeed. Instead, may righteousness prevail, and may this tragedy lead to reforms that prevent such disasters in the future. We declare that the Lord will thwart the plans of the wicked and protect the innocent (Proverbs 12:7).
Finally, we lift up this entire situation to You, Lord, asking that Your will be done. Extinguish the fire completely and prevent any reignition. Provide the necessary resources—more firefighters, medical personnel, and equipment—to bring this rescue operation to a successful conclusion. Let Your name be glorified through this, and let Your people turn to You in repentance and faith.
