"He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, and every branch the does bear fruit He prunes, that it may bear even more fruit" John 15:2.
"Dear ###, I enjoy your content immensely. You use a solid amount of Scripture, and you are not intimidated to post "the hard sayings." I'd even ascent to your "prophetic edge," and pray He may continue to guide you in His Word and ways.
I'm sure that, as with all of us, you may have experienced things as I have, both prior to and after conversion, such as rejection, prejudice, and other degrees of violence and persecution. In fact, if we were totally renewed, Spirit, Soul and Body, at conversion, why would the churches need letters written from Paul, Peter, James, John and The Writer of Hebrews? The fact that the New Testament exists is proof that we are not "complete" until freed from this earthly temple of clay, and really, not until the resurrection...
I have noticed in my own life my "rough edges" can repel those to whom I am most desirous of edifying. With that said, I have benefited from practical, "Christian" counseling, and would put it under the sense of always having a certain distrust of my flesh, especially in the way The Spirit speaks through us. We are growing into His image, but have not yet attained. Until them, a healthy "suspicion" of ourselves, while in the body, is under the realm of "examining ourselves," something we can either do in excess, which can lean toward worldly introspection, or neglecting to "take care of our own vineyard," which is dangerous because of the heart being deceitful. Paul talked about buffeting his body, putting it under subjection, lest after preaching to others (of all things), he might be disqualified, 1 Cor 9:27. Luther said, "we must all learn to know the varying limits necessary for our bodily castigation."
Anyway, I believe I touched on the point. Please consider everything carefully, hold fast to that which is good. In Jesus' Name
I wish I could refer a few authors, I guess one would be ancient, Dr ###, The Bruised Reed; a newer one, Dr ###, War of Words, and anything from another author, ###."
