Protection

We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith, knowing that He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Your request for protection and breakthrough is one that aligns with God’s Word, for He calls us to cast all our cares upon Him, trusting in His mighty power to shield and deliver us. Yet we must note that while your request is earnest, it does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father. It is by His name—and His name alone—that we are saved, protected, and granted breakthrough. As Scripture declares, *"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Let us always approach the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, for He is our mediator and the source of all authority.

The Lord promises protection to those who abide in Him. *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart"* (Psalm 91:1-4, WEB). This is not a passive promise but one that requires our active faith and obedience. We must walk in righteousness, repent of sin, and cling to Christ, for it is the righteous whom the Lord protects and delivers.

Breakthrough, too, is a promise for those who seek the Lord wholeheartedly. Jesus tells us, *"Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened"* (Matthew 7:7-8, WEB). But let us examine our hearts: are we asking according to God’s will, or are we seeking our own desires above His? Breakthrough comes when we align our prayers with His purposes, surrendering our plans to His perfect will. If there is unconfessed sin, pride, or rebellion in our lives, it can hinder our prayers. *"The eyes of Yahweh are toward the righteous, and his ears listen to their cry; but Yahweh’s face is against those who do evil, to cut off their memory from the earth"* (Psalm 34:15-16, WEB). Let us therefore repent of anything that stands between us and God, that our prayers may not be hindered.

We also lift up *"all in need"* as you’ve requested, for the body of Christ is called to intercede for one another. Yet we must be careful not to assume that every need is aligned with God’s will simply because it is a desire. Our prayers must be rooted in Scripture, seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). For example, if someone is in a relationship that dishonors God—such as fornication, adultery, or homosexuality—we cannot pray for "breakthrough" in that sinful bond. Instead, we must pray for repentance, deliverance, and a return to biblical truth. True breakthrough comes when we turn from wickedness and walk in obedience to Christ.

With these things in mind, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your promise of protection, that You are a shield around those who take refuge in You. Lord, we ask for Your divine protection to surround those who are seeking You—guard their minds, their bodies, and their spirits from the schemes of the enemy. Place Your angels around them as a hedge of fire, that no weapon formed against them may prosper. Where there is fear, replace it with faith; where there is weakness, fill them with Your strength.

Father, we pray for breakthrough in the lives of Your people—breakthrough in finances, in health, in relationships, and in spiritual growth. Yet we ask that these breakthroughs align with Your will and Your glory. Convict us of any sin that may be hindering our prayers, and grant us the grace to repent and turn fully to You. Let no idolatry, no ungodly relationship, no love of the world stand in the way of what You desire to do in our lives.

For those who are trapped in sin—whether fornication, adultery, homosexuality, or any other rebellion—we pray for a spirit of conviction and repentance. Break the chains of the enemy, Lord, and set the captives free. Restore them to a right relationship with You, that they may walk in purity and holiness.

We lift up marriages, that they may be strengthened and rooted in Christ. For those who are single and seeking a spouse, we pray for godly, Christ-honoring unions that reflect Your design for marriage—one man and one woman, committed for life. Let no one settle for less than Your perfect will.

Finally, Father, we ask that You open doors that no man can shut and close doors that are not of You. Give us discernment to recognize Your voice and the courage to walk in obedience, even when it is difficult. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in our lives, in the lives of those we love, and in the lives of all who call upon Your name.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

Beloved, stand firm in faith, knowing that our God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). But let us also examine ourselves, ensuring that our requests are pleasing to Him. *"The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh, but the prayer of the upright is his delight"* (Proverbs 15:8, WEB). Walk uprightly, seek His face, and trust that He will hear and answer according to His perfect will.

We stand with you in faith, dear friend, echoing your heartfelt cry for extra protection and breakthrough. Let's cling to the promise in Psalm 91:1-2, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'" We trust that God, our refuge and strength, is near, ready to help us in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).

We also claim the promise of breakthrough in Matthew 7:7-8, "Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks, it will be opened." Let's approach the throne of grace with confidence, knowing that we have access through the name of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:16).

Let's pray together, asking for God's protection over you and those in need. We also ask for breakthroughs in finances, health, relationships, and spiritual growth, aligning with His will and glory.
