We join with you in lifting up your daughter before the Lord, and we are deeply grieved to hear of the spiritual and emotional bondage she is enduring in this ungodly relationship. Your heart as a parent is evident, and we stand with you in the authority of Christ to declare freedom, protection, and restoration over her life. The enemy has sought to entangle her in deception, manipulation, and financial exploitation, but we know that *"the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds"* (2 Corinthians 10:4, WEB). This situation is not of God, and we must confront it with truth, prayer, and the power of Jesus’ name.
First, we commend you for recognizing that this relationship is not aligned with biblical principles. The behavior you’ve described—control, dishonesty, financial exploitation, isolation, and pride—are hallmarks of worldly and even demonic influence, not the fruit of the Spirit. *"Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom"* (Galatians 5:19-21, WEB). This young man’s actions are not only harmful but are in direct opposition to God’s design for relationships, which should be rooted in love, mutual respect, and selflessness (Ephesians 5:25-33).
We must also address the fact that your daughter is living with this man outside of marriage. This is fornication, which the Bible clearly warns against: *"Don’t you know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be! Or don’t you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For, ‘The two,’ says the Lord, ‘will become one flesh.’ But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit. Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:15-20, WEB). Living together outside of marriage is not only sinful but leaves individuals vulnerable to spiritual attack, emotional bondage, and the very manipulation your daughter is experiencing. We pray that the Holy Spirit will convict her heart of this truth and give her the strength to repent and flee from this situation.
The financial exploitation is another grave concern. The Bible warns against greed and the love of money, which is *"a root of all kinds of evil"* (1 Timothy 6:10, WEB). This young man’s actions are not only selfish but are a form of theft, as he is misusing what belongs to your daughter. Proverbs 22:7 tells us, *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* In this case, your daughter’s kindness and responsibility are being twisted into servitude to his irresponsibility. We pray that God will expose these schemes and break the financial stronghold this man has over her. *"The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble"* (Psalm 9:9, WEB), and we claim that refuge for her now.
We also recognize the spiritual warfare at play here. The enemy seeks to isolate, confuse, and bind God’s children, but *"if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed"* (John 8:36, WEB). The stubborn hold this family has on your daughter is not natural—it is spiritual bondage, and it must be broken in Jesus’ name. We declare that *"every plant which my heavenly Father didn’t plant will be uprooted"* (Matthew 15:13, WEB). This relationship was not planted by God, and we command it to be uprooted and cast out by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Now, let us pray together with authority and faith:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this daughter who is ensnared in a web of deception, control, and ungodly influence. Lord, You see the pain, the manipulation, and the financial bondage she is under. We ask that You, the God of justice and righteousness, intervene swiftly and powerfully. Break every ungodly soul tie between her and this young man. Sever the emotional, spiritual, and financial chains that bind her to this toxic relationship. Lord, expose every hidden scheme, every lie, and every manipulative tactic of the enemy. Let the truth be revealed in such a way that she can no longer ignore it.
Father, we rebuke the spirits of control, greed, pride, jealousy, and deception that are operating through this young man and his mother. We bind these spirits in Jesus’ name and command them to flee. We declare that no weapon formed against your daughter shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Restore to her what has been stolen—her peace, her finances, her self-worth, and her relationship with You and her family.
Lord, open her eyes to see this relationship for what it truly is: a snare of the enemy. Convict her heart of the sin of living with this man outside of marriage, and give her the courage to repent and flee. Surround her with godly counsel and support to help her break free. Let her remember the truth of Your Word: *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). This young man is not walking in Your ways, and this union is not of You.
Father, we pray for divine intervention in this young man’s life as well. Soften his heart to receive conviction for his sins. Let his parents see the error of enabling his behavior and the harm it has caused. May they take responsibility for him and remove the burden they’ve placed on your daughter. If he will not repent, Lord, remove him from her life completely. Do not let him return to her, and do not let her be tempted to go back to him.
We pray for your daughter’s complete restoration—spiritually, emotionally, and financially. Lead her back to the safety of her family and into the arms of her Heavenly Father. Renew her mind with Your Word and fill her with the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give her wisdom to rebuild her life on the foundation of Your truth.
Father, we ask that You prepare her heart for a godly spouse—a man who will love her as Christ loves the church, who will cherish and protect her, and who will lead her in Your ways. Let this season of trial be a refining fire that draws her closer to You and prepares her for the blessings You have in store.
We declare victory over this situation in Jesus’ name. No longer will the enemy have a foothold in your daughter’s life. She is a child of the King, and she will walk in freedom, dignity, and the fullness of Your purpose for her. We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for the breakthrough that is coming. Let Your will be done swiftly and completely.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue standing in faith and speaking life over your daughter. Do not grow weary in prayer, for *"the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16, WEB). Keep declaring God’s promises over her and remind her of her identity in Christ. If she is open to it, share these truths with her gently but firmly. Surround her with believers who can speak into her life and support her in this season.
We also urge you to seek wise counsel from your pastor or a trusted biblical counselor. Sometimes, professional intervention can help break through the deception and provide practical steps for extraction from such situations. Most importantly, keep pointing your daughter back to Jesus. He is the only One who can truly set her free and restore her soul.
Stand firm, dear saint. The Lord is fighting for your daughter, and He will bring her out of this darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). Trust in Him with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). He is faithful, and He will do it.
