The Scriptures remind us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12), and we must arm ourselves with the truth of God’s Word and the authority we have in Christ.
Your daughter’s entanglement in this toxic relationship is deeply concerning, especially as it involves not only the young man but also his mother, who appears to be fostering division and envy. The Bible warns us in 1 Corinthians 15:33, *“Don’t be deceived! ‘Evil companionships corrupt good morals.’”* This relationship is not only unhealthy but is actively pulling your daughters away from the godly values and unity you have sought to instill in them. Proverbs 22:24-25 tells us, *“Don’t befriend a hot-tempered man, and don’t associate with one who harbors anger: lest you learn his ways, and ensnare your soul.”* This young man and his mother are not acting in love or wisdom, and their influence is a snare to your daughters’ spiritual and emotional well-being.
We also address the disrespect and credit-stealing you mentioned. The Bible commands us in Exodus 20:12, *“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.”* This young man’s mother is not only failing to teach him godly character but is actively undermining the authority and love you have poured into your daughters. This is not of God. We pray that the Lord would expose their motives and turn their hearts away from your family, breaking every ungodly soul tie that has formed. Let their words fall to the ground, and may the Lord silence their destructive influence (Psalm 140:9-11).
As for your daughters, we pray for a spirit of repentance and a return to biblical truth. The enemy has deceived them into believing lies, but we declare that the Holy Spirit will open their eyes to see the toxicity of this relationship. May they remember the commandment to honor their parents and the warning in Proverbs 1:8-9: *“My son, listen to your father’s instruction, and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching: for they will be a garland to grace your head, and chains around your neck.”* Let them reject the manipulation and embrace the love and wisdom of their family.
