We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea for protection from spiritual attacks. The Word of God reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). We stand firm in the truth that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).
Heavenly Father, we cry out to You on behalf of our brother or sister who is enduring relentless attacks on both body and mind. These disturbances in sleep are not mere coincidences, but we recognize them as schemes of the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Yet we declare that Jesus came so that we may have life, and have it abundantly! We rebuke every spirit of fear, torment, and oppression in the mighty name of Jesus. We plead the blood of Jesus over every area of vulnerability—mind, body, and spirit.
Lord, we ask You to surround them with Your holy angels, as You promised in Psalm 91:11-12, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone." We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that every assignment of the enemy is dismantled now by the power of the cross.
We encourage you, dear one, to put on the full armor of God daily so that you may stand against the devil’s schemes (Ephesians 6:11). Fasten the belt of truth around your waist, put on the breastplate of righteousness, and shod your feet with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Take up the shield of faith to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one, and the helmet of salvation along with the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests (Ephesians 6:14-18).
Do not grow weary in resisting the enemy. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Fill your mind with Scripture, meditate on God’s promises, and worship Him in spirit and in truth. The enemy cannot stand in the presence of praise and worship to our King!
Father, we also ask that You reveal any areas of your life where the enemy may have gained a foothold. Are there unconfessed sins, unforgiveness, or areas where you have not fully surrendered to God’s will? If so, we encourage you to repent and turn away from anything that does not align with God’s Word. The enemy seeks to devour those who are not vigilant (1 Peter 5:8), but God’s grace is sufficient to cleanse and restore you.
We pray for deep, restorative sleep for you. May the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May you wake up refreshed, strengthened, and filled with the joy of the Lord, which is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
Finally, we declare that you are more than a conqueror through Him who loved you (Romans 8:37). The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Ephesians 1:19-20), and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Stand firm in your faith, and do not be shaken. The victory is already yours in Christ Jesus!
We pray all these things in the mighty, matchless name of Jesus, the Name above all names, the One who has conquered sin, death, and the grave. Amen and amen!
