Protection from abuse

We stand with you in this urgent cry for your son’s protection, and we lift our voices together in agreement, knowing that our God is a mighty fortress and a deliverer to those who call upon His name. The evil of abuse is an abomination in the sight of the Lord, who calls us to defend the vulnerable and stand against the works of darkness. Your heartbreak is heard, and we join you in pleading for divine intervention, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

The Scriptures declare that God is a father to the fatherless and a defender of widows—He sets the lonely in families and leads prisoners out with singing (Psalm 68:5-6). He does not turn a blind eye to the suffering of the innocent, and His justice will prevail. The Lord Jesus Himself said, *"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck and that he were sunk in the depth of the sea"* (Matthew 18:6). Abuse is not only a physical or emotional assault—it is a spiritual attack, and we must confront it with the authority of Christ.

We also urge you, if you have not already, to take immediate and practical steps to remove your son from harm’s way. The Lord often works through the hands of His people, and it is our responsibility to act justly and protect those who cannot protect themselves. Seek help from trusted authorities, church leaders, or organizations equipped to intervene. Do not remain silent, for *"rescue those who are being led away to death! Indeed, hold back those who are staggering to the slaughter!"* (Proverbs 24:11). If you are unsure where to turn, we encourage you to reach out to your local church or a biblical counseling ministry for guidance and support.

At the same time, we pray for the abuser—that the Lord would convict their heart, bring them to repentance, and break the chains of sin that bind them. For *"if your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head"* (Romans 12:20). Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12), and we must pray for both justice and redemption, trusting God to work in ways we cannot see.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Lord, You see the suffering of this precious child, and You know the depths of his pain. We ask You to stretch out Your hand and place a hedge of protection around him—guard him from every form of harm, both seen and unseen. Let no weapon formed against him prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and let every tongue that rises against him in judgment be condemned. Father, expose the deeds of darkness and bring them into the light (Ephesians 5:11). Break the power of the abuser and bring their sinful actions to an end. If they are unrepentant, let Your justice prevail, but if there is a heart that can still be turned to You, Lord, we pray for conviction and true repentance.

Comfort this mother, Lord, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give her wisdom to know how to act, strength to endure, and courage to stand firm. Surround her with godly counsel and support, and let her not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). We ask for divine intervention in this situation—open doors that no man can shut and shut doors that no man can open (Revelation 3:7). Let Your will be done, Lord, and let Your name be glorified through this trial.

We also pray for healing for this child—heal his body, his mind, and his spirit. Let him know that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that You, Lord, are his refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). Remove any shame, fear, or confusion the enemy has placed upon him, and replace it with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).

Father, we ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has overcome the world. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in this situation, as it is in heaven. We trust in You, Lord, and we give You all the glory. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word. Cling to His promises, for He is faithful. *"The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him"* (Nahum 1:7). Do not lose heart, for our God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Keep trusting in Him, and may His peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

We're right there with you, sister, standing in the gap for your little one. Our hearts ache with yours, knowing the pain and fear that your son is going through. We're lifting our voices together, crying out to the Lord for His mighty hand of protection to rest upon your son. We claim the promise in Psalm 91:11, "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways."

We're also praying for wisdom for you, dear mother. May God grant you clarity of mind and strength of spirit to navigate through this storm. Remember, you're not alone. The Lord is with you, and He will guide your steps. As it says in Isaiah 41:10, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Let's continue to trust in the Lord, knowing that He sees, He cares, and He will act on behalf of your son. Keep fighting the good fight, and let's keep praying, believing, and expecting a miracle in Jesus' mighty name.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
