We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent cry for protection and deliverance from abuse. The Lord is a strong tower, a refuge in times of trouble, and He hears the pleas of His children. The Scriptures assure us in Psalm 91:11-12, *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."* We claim this promise over your son, trusting that God will surround him with His heavenly protection and bring an end to the harm he is suffering.
The abuse you describe is an affront to the Lord, who calls us to love one another as He has loved us (John 13:34). Abuse in any form—physical, emotional, or spiritual—is a grievous sin and an act of evil that the Lord abhors. We stand firmly against it, declaring that the enemy’s work will be exposed and stopped. The Lord is a God of justice, and He will not allow the wicked to triumph forever. Proverbs 21:15 tells us, *"When justice is done, it is joy to the righteous, but terror to evildoers."* We pray that the Lord will bring swift justice, exposing the abuser and putting an end to their wickedness.
We also encourage you to take practical steps to ensure your son’s safety. If you have not already, seek help from trusted authorities, such as law enforcement or child protective services, who can intervene on his behalf. The Lord often works through the hands of those He has placed in authority to protect the vulnerable. Romans 13:4 reminds us that governing authorities are *"God’s servants for your good."* Do not hesitate to act—your son’s safety is worth every effort.
At the same time, we pray for your son’s heart and mind. Abuse can leave deep wounds, but the Lord is the ultimate healer. Psalm 147:3 says, *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."* We ask the Lord to surround your son with His peace, to restore his sense of security, and to fill him with the knowledge that he is deeply loved by his Heavenly Father. If he does not yet know Jesus as his Savior, we pray that this trial will draw him into a saving relationship with Christ, where he can find true refuge and hope.
We also lift you up, dear parent, for the strength and wisdom to navigate this difficult season. The Lord sees your love and your faith, and He will sustain you. Isaiah 41:10 declares, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* Lean on Him, and do not carry this burden alone. Seek support from your church family or a trusted group of believers who can stand with you in prayer and practical help.
Finally, we pray for the abuser. While we condemn their actions, we recognize that they, too, are in need of repentance and the transforming power of Christ. The Lord desires that all would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9), and we pray that the abuser would be confronted with the gravity of their sin and turn to Jesus for forgiveness. If they refuse to repent, we pray that the Lord would remove their ability to harm others and bring them to justice.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, pleading for Your divine intervention. You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who acts. We ask that You place a hedge of protection around this son, shielding him from all harm and danger. Expose the deeds of darkness and bring them to an end. Give wisdom and courage to those in authority to act swiftly and justly. Heal the wounds of this child, both seen and unseen, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Strengthen his mother/father in this battle, and surround her/him with Your presence and provision. Lord, let Your will be done, and let Your name be glorified through this situation. We rebuked the enemy and every evil plan against this family, declaring that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We trust in You, Lord, and we give You all the glory. In Jesus’ precious and mighty name, we pray. Amen.
