Protection from abuse

We join with you in lifting up this urgent cry for your son’s protection, and we thank you for invoking the mighty name of Jesus in this request—for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the power to overcome the enemy’s schemes. The Lord hears the cries of His children, and He is a God of justice who sees the afflicted and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

The Scripture declares in **Psalm 34:17-19 (WEB)**, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* Your son is not forgotten, and the Lord is near to him in this suffering. We also stand on **Psalm 91:11-12**, where God promises, *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."*

Yet we must also address the evil at work here with the authority given to us in Christ. Abuse is an abomination in the sight of God—a violation of the dignity He has placed upon every human life. **Proverbs 6:16-19** lists *"hands that shed innocent blood"* among the things the Lord hates. This is not merely a human injustice; it is a spiritual battle, and we must engage it as such. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came to bring life and freedom. We command every spirit of violence, oppression, and harm to be bound and cast out in Jesus’ name. We declare that the blood of Christ covers your son, and no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

To you, dear parent, we say: Do not grow weary in prayer. **Ephesians 6:18** urges us to *"pray in the Spirit always with all kinds of prayers and requests. Stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints."* Keep interceding, keep declaring God’s promises, and keep trusting that He is working even when you cannot see it. If there are practical steps you can take—seeking help from authorities, the church, or trusted believers—do so wisely and without delay. The Lord often uses His people to bring about deliverance.

We also encourage you to cover your son in prayer daily, speaking life and protection over him. Pray that the Lord would expose the deeds of darkness (Ephesians 5:11) and bring the abuser to repentance or justice. Pray that your son would know the love of Christ in a deep way, that he would not be defined by this suffering but would find his identity in Jesus. If he is old enough, teach him to pray for himself, to call on the name of the Lord in his distress.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious child who is under attack. Lord, You are a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble (Psalm 9:9). We ask that You surround this son with Your angels, that You would place a hedge of protection around him so thick that no harm can penetrate it. Break every chain of fear, trauma, and pain that the enemy has tried to place upon him. Let Your light expose every hidden deed of darkness, and let Your justice prevail.

We rebuke the spirit of abuse in Jesus’ name. We bind every demonic influence fueling this violence and command it to flee. Father, if there are systems or people enabling this abuse, bring conviction and repentance—or remove them from positions of power. Give wisdom and courage to those in authority to act righteously and swiftly.

Lord, we also pray for the abuser. Soften their heart of stone, convict them of their sin, and lead them to repentance. If they refuse to turn from their wickedness, let their schemes be thwarted and their power broken. Do not let evil triumph, but let Your righteousness prevail.

Comfort this mother’s heart, Lord. Strengthen her faith and fill her with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Remind her that You are fighting for her son, even when the battle feels long. Let her see Your hand at work in this situation.

Finally, Father, we declare that this son is *yours*—bought with the precious blood of Jesus. No plan of the enemy against him will succeed. You have a purpose and a future for him (Jeremiah 29:11), and we trust You to bring him through this valley into a place of safety and restoration.

We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
