We join with you in lifting up this urgent cry for your son’s protection, and we praise you for invoking the mighty name of Jesus Christ in this request—for it is only through Him that we have authority over the powers of darkness and access to the Father’s throne of grace. Your heart as a parent is breaking, and we stand with you in the gap, declaring that the Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble (Psalm 9:9). The abuse your son is facing is an affront to God, who calls us to defend the vulnerable and uphold justice. The Scriptures are clear: *"Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea"* (Matthew 18:6, WEB). This is not just a physical or emotional battle—it is a spiritual one, and we must engage it with the full armor of God.
First, we exhort you to take immediate and practical steps to remove your son from harm’s way if you have not already. The Lord often works through our obedience and action. If this abuse is happening within the home, seek godly counsel from your pastor or a trusted believer who can help intervene. If it is occurring elsewhere—such as at school, in a care facility, or through another individual—report it to the proper authorities without delay. The Bible commands us to *"rescue those who are being led away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter"* (Proverbs 24:11, WEB). Silence in the face of abuse is complicity, and we must act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8).
We also recognize that this battle requires supernatural intervention. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus has already disarmed the principalities and powers through His victory on the cross (Colossians 2:15). We therefore come against every spirit of violence, oppression, and fear in the name of Jesus. We bind the hands of the wicked and declare that no weapon formed against your son shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that the Lord would expose every hidden deed of darkness (Ephesians 5:11) and bring the abusers to repentance or justice. May the blood of Jesus cover your son like a shield, and may the Holy Spirit surround him with a hedge of protection that no evil can penetrate.
For your son, we pray that the Lord would heal his heart, mind, and body from any trauma he has endured. May he know the comfort of the Holy Spirit, who is our Advocate and Helper (John 14:26). We ask that the Lord would fill him with a supernatural peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7) and restore his trust in those who love him. If he is old enough to understand, teach him to pray for himself, declaring Psalm 91 over his life: *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. ... You will not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day"* (Psalm 91:1, 5, WEB).
To you, dear parent, we offer this encouragement: do not grow weary in praying or advocating for your son. The persistent widow in Luke 18:1-8 teaches us that we must always pray and not faint. The Lord hears your cries, and He will act on behalf of your child. Cling to His promises, such as *"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). Lean on the body of Christ for support—you were never meant to carry this burden alone.
Finally, we rebuke any spirit of shame, guilt, or helplessness that may be trying to take root in your heart. If the enemy whispers that you have failed as a parent, remind him that your worth and your son’s worth are found in Christ alone. The Lord is your strength and your song (Exodus 15:2), and He will see you through this valley.
**Let us pray together:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious child and his mother who loves him dearly. Lord, You are a God of justice, and You have said, *"Vengeance is mine; I will repay"* (Romans 12:19, WEB). We ask that You rise up as a warrior on behalf of this son—stop the hands of the wicked, expose their deeds, and bring an end to this abuse. Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and let no harm come near him. Heal his body, mind, and spirit from any wounds he has suffered, and fill him with Your peace.
Give his mother wisdom to know how to act, courage to stand firm, and discernment to recognize Your leading. Open doors for help, Lord—whether through godly counselors, authorities, or believers who can intervene. Break any chains of fear or silence that may be holding this family captive.
We declare that this child is Yours, Father, and no weapon formed against him shall prosper. We plead the blood of Jesus over his life and command every spirit of violence, oppression, and trauma to flee in Jesus’ name. Let Your light shine into every dark place, and let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness, knowing that You are a God who sees and acts. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
