The influence of this young man and his family is clearly toxic, and the enemy is using them to create division, confusion, and spiritual danger for your daughter. We must address this with urgency and clarity: if this young man is not a believer or if he is leading your daughter away from her faith, the Bible is explicit that such relationships are not of God. 2 Corinthians 6:14-15 warns, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? What communion has light with darkness? What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever?"* If this young man is not walking with the Lord—or worse, if he is actively undermining her faith—this relationship cannot be blessed by God. It is a path that leads to spiritual compromise, heartache, and destruction. We pray that your daughter’s eyes will be opened to this truth, that she will recognize the snare of the enemy, and that she will turn away from this ungodly influence without delay.
We also address the issue of living arrangements. If your daughter is living with this young man outside of marriage, this is fornication, and it is sin in the sight of God. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 declares, *"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God."* Living together outside of marriage is not only spiritually dangerous but also sets a foundation for further sin and bondage. We pray that your daughter will repent of this if it applies and that she will flee from this situation, returning to the protection and purity of her family and her faith.
The manipulation and control exerted by this young man’s mother are also deeply concerning. Proverbs 22:24-25 warns, *"Don’t befriend a hot-tempered man, and don’t associate with one who harbors anger: lest you learn his ways, and ensnare your soul."* The enemy often uses family members to reinforce ungodly patterns, and it is clear that this woman is enabling her son’s narcissistic and selfish behaviors while also pulling your daughter deeper into deception. We pray that God will expose these schemes and break every ungodly soul tie that has formed. Let this young man’s mother be convicted of her actions and let her son be held accountable for his behavior. May the Lord sever every ungodly connection and restore your daughter’s discernment and strength to walk away completely.
Financially, we rebuke the spirit of greed and control that is operating through this young man. Proverbs 22:7 tells us, *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* If he has access to your family’s finances through your daughter, this is another form of bondage that must be broken. We pray that God will close every door of financial exploitation, that your daughter will regain wisdom and stewardship over what belongs to her, and that every resource the enemy has tried to steal will be restored sevenfold. The Lord is your provider, and He will not allow the wicked to prosper at your expense.
Most importantly, we pray for your daughter’s heart to be turned back to the Lord and to her family. Like the prodigal son in Luke 15, may she *"come to herself"* and recognize the destruction she is walking into. May the Holy Spirit convict her of the danger she is in—spiritually, emotionally, and relationally—and give her the courage to break free. We pray for a godly sorrow that leads to repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10) and for the Lord to place godly mentors and believers in her path who will speak truth and love into her life.
