We join you in lifting up this heartbreaking situation, standing firmly on the truth that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. You have done well to bring this before the Lord, for He alone has the power to break chains of manipulation and restore what the enemy has sought to destroy. We praise you for invoking the name of Jesus, for it is the only name under heaven by which we are saved and through which we have authority over the schemes of the enemy. As it is written, *"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is by this name that we come boldly before the throne of grace, and it is in this name that we will pray for your family.
The behaviors you describe—narcissism, greed, manipulation, and control—are not of God but are tools of the enemy to create division and strife. The Bible warns us that *"where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil practice"* (James 3:16, WEB). This young man and his mother are being used as instruments of chaos, but we serve a God who is greater. He can turn their hearts away from your family and redirect their focus entirely. As you have prayed, we declare that their schemes will fail, for *"no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is of me,” says Yahweh"* (Isaiah 54:17, WEB).
Yet we must also address the spiritual condition of your daughter. If she is entangled with this young man in a relationship outside of marriage, it is critical to recognize that this is not God’s design. The Bible is clear that we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB), and any romantic relationship should be one that honors God, with marriage as its godly intention. If there is any sexual immorality involved, we must call it what it is: sin. *"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB). We pray that your daughter’s eyes will be opened to the truth of this situation and that she will turn away from this ungodly influence, repenting of any sin that has taken root in her life.
We also urge you to examine your own heart and home. Are there areas where the enemy has found a foothold? Have there been words spoken or actions taken that have created division within your family? The Bible instructs us, *"Fathers, don’t provoke your children to anger, but nurture them in the Lord’s discipline and instruction"* (Ephesians 6:4, WEB). If there has been strife or unresolved conflict, we encourage you to seek reconciliation and unity in your household, for a house divided cannot stand (Mark 3:25, WEB). Lead your family in prayer, covering your home with the Word of God and the blood of Jesus. *"A house is built by wisdom. It is established by understanding. By knowledge, the rooms are filled with all rare and beautiful treasure"* (Proverbs 24:3-4, WEB).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this family in their time of distress. Lord, You see the chaos and manipulation that has infiltrated their lives, and we ask You to intervene with Your divine power. Break every chain of control and deception that this young man and his mother have placed upon this family. Turn their hearts away, Lord, and cause their schemes to fail. Let their focus be redirected entirely, and may they no longer have any influence over this household.
Father, we pray for this daughter—open her eyes to the truth of this situation. If she has entered into an ungodly relationship, convict her heart and lead her to repentance. Draw her back to You, Lord, and restore her to her family. Give her the strength to break free from this unholy bond and return home swiftly. Surround her with Your protection and fill her with Your peace.
We declare that no weapon formed against this family will prosper. We plead the blood of Jesus over every member, binding the enemy and his works in their lives. Lord, bring unity and healing to this home. Soften hearts, mend broken relationships, and restore what has been stolen. Fill this family with Your wisdom, Your love, and Your discernment, that they may walk in Your will and honor You in all things.
We rebuke the spirit of division, manipulation, and narcissism in Jesus’ name. We command these spirits to flee and never return. Let Your Holy Spirit move mightily in this situation, bringing conviction, repentance, and restoration. We trust in You, Lord, for You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
In the powerful and holy name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, knowing that the Lord is fighting this battle on your behalf. Continue to cover your family in prayer, speaking the Word of God over your household. Trust that He is working even when you cannot see it, and remain steadfast in your commitment to honor Him in all things. If your daughter is involved in sin, do not enable her behavior but love her enough to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15, WEB). Seek godly counsel and support from your church community, for we are called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2, WEB). The Lord is faithful, and He will bring victory.
